It's cool you met Brooks. I just never understood why people love to take pictures with famous people, shake their hands, get their autographs etc. Nothing against it, but I just don't get it.
OP- was Brooks' hoodie a Houston Rockets one? Or was it just a Houston "space city" sweatshirt you'd get at the airport?
Because for some people, they are like their role models? Even when I got an autograph from Tracy McGrady I felt pretty good about it. When he still had both knees I admired his game...
Somewhat Brooks cool story related... I have heard through the grapevine that he and his wife are expecting child number 2. Also heard that Scola and his wife are expecting child number 4. Don't know if either is absolute truth but that's the word from those who have seen the Mrs's.
I admire Mutombo for what he does and see him as a role model, but don't really need his signature. If I see him somewhere in public I wouldnt bother him to get one. I may talk to him if I was introduced at a mixer party...lol..like that will happen. I dunno..still don't get it...but don't mind me. I am sure I am out of the norm here.
i may not be lucky enough for your mother because her big. but i am certainly lucky enough for your sister/wife.
I've seen Jeff Van Gundy twice in the restaurant I work at (even served him once, both times I saw him he was wearing sweats and looked very tired), served Rudy T's son Trey Tomjanovich (he was sort of spazzy like Rudy seems to be), and saw Joey Dorsey a few times. Apparently a few Texans players swing through there as well and Bob Sura used to come by as well. Oh yeah and coworkers saw Robert Horry on the weekend that I took off to go to Seattle PS I work at a sushi restaurant near downtown, won't disclose the name of it though. And I couldn't really bother him to take a picture because apparently he comes in there on a regular basis and don't really want to get chewed out for bothering guests.
Wait you work at a Sushi restaraunt downtown and you won't name it? Like somehow a bunch of Sushi starved Clutchfans will suddenly burst onto the pavement and camp out? Come on man.....is the Sushi place private, or is it open to the public? And more importantly is the Sushi good? DD
I think it's totally legit not to name the place. The poster - as well as JVG - have the right to their privacy. My buddy works in a place in which JVG, his wife, and children have been patrons/clients - Steve Francis, too - and he'd never disclose it. In addition to privacy for its own sake, there's also the issue of security. There are a lot of psychos out there. And really, it only takes one - not a lot. More than one colleague in my buddy's line of work has been killed on the job (no, he's not a cop or firefighter).
It is a fricken PUBLIC restaraunt, I would bet the owners would love for him to name it so folks would come out to eat there. It is not like they are THERE right now....I mean come on....this is laughable... Secret restaraunt names....it is like the guy who named the bowling alley....I mean that may be Brooks only time there ever... ROFLMAO.....and these are people.......it is just funny..... Name that restaraunt.....lol. DD
Have to agree with DD, at a public restaurant they're just people and it really doesn't make a difference where because the chances of seeing them isn't likely, and if you do so what if you ask for an autograph they should be honored. I saw JVG at Fuddruckers on I10 he looked quite scrubby I would've talked but I was too budy preparing for my burger.
yeah threadstarter lucky aaron brooks is such a class act. cause the wrong nba player would have looked at him funny, or even smack him upside the head if a dude ask another dude for his telephone number.
