I understand others points that bonds is the only one chasing the big record, but all of these guys records will count in the history of the game. everyone, not just the hall of famers. everyone talks about the out of skew years, well there are several players that has happened to this era. it happened with fan-fav luis gonzales, it happened with brady anderson. you gonna subtract their records.

and rather right or wrong, or lying (which he probably is) he said he didn't knowingly take the juice. jim rome gets all over him for not denying the book. but that's a book, and he has no legal or even moral obligation to a couple of reporters getting rich off his life.

and the fact is he is playing right now, he is still hitting well, and he is being tested, which really should end all discussion until he gets caught, if it ever happens.

What record is Sosa on the verge of breaking? McGwire got ripped pretty good in the media for his "testimony" during the steroid hearings.

Sosa has become a non-story. They are not subject to the same level of criticism because they are not in the newspapers every single day.

If Sosa held some sort of record, folks may question it, but all he holds is the 3rd highest single season HR total.

He's already been caught. He admitted to a grand jury that he used the cream and clear.

that's silly, until he gets caught under baseball's new testing policy its moot. barry bonds hasn't been caught doing anyting anyway, that's still cicurmstantial what you are referring to. like sam said, fans should really direct their anger towards mlb if you want to blame anyone. because part of the problem is we will never know what happened in those years, unless each player comes clean.

and lastly, I don't know but I really couldn't care less about the cream and the clear.

This is flat out wrong. He never admitted to using the "clear" or the "cream".

He admitted to using flaxseed oil... which people are accusing of being the "clear".

Nothing has been proven. This guy has taken so much heat, and theres so much attention paid to him... yet he still hasn't tested positive for anything.

Bonds has only been in his 40's for a year and a half -- after the all the controversy and scrutiny started.

The "cream" and the "clear" is officially named deoxy methyl testosterone or DMT. Due to current loopholes, it's techincally legal. Other steroids such as Winstrol(Palmeiro) are illegal. I'm guessing when ppl say Bonds broke the law by taking steroids, their wrong, since DMT is currently not on the banned substances list. In fact, if you know what your'e looking for, you can buy it legally anytime you want since a few companies do sell the stuff.

The answer is HGH or Human Growth Hormone. MLB still does not test for HGH although they do test for steroids and amphetamines. A lot of players were caught during the steroid testing last year and many players like Pudge Rodriguez, Bagwell, and Giambi lost a lot of weight when they started testing for steroids...Very suspicious in my opinion...

HGH is for the ligament and tendons so they could handle increased muscle mass. Take away the steroids and the user gets thinner whether he's still using HGH or not.

That's odd, given that the supplier of it was convicted of distributing illegal steroids.

    http://www.usatoday.com/sports/2006-04-27-balco-scientist_x.htm

SAN FRANCISCO — A noted scientist in the field of sports nutritional supplements pleaded guilty Friday to supplying the BALCO lab with the performance-enhancing drug known as "the clear."

Patrick Arnold pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute steroids. He's scheduled to be sentenced in August and most likely will face three months in jail and three months of home detention.

Balco created DMT, but also supplied other steroids. Those steroids were illegal. As of right now, DMT is not on the banned list, so it's not illegal.
Arnold might of supplied with some of the DMT, but he's a good guy and well respected. The whole steroid thing is overrated anyway.

According to the US DOJ, they are controlled substances that are not legal to distribute:

    http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/can/press/html/2005_07_15_Conte_Valente_Anderson.html

In pleading guilty, Victor Conte, James Valente and Greg Anderson admitted to conspiring to distribute and distributing illegal steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs to athletes. The controlled substances they admitted to distributing are:

•A testosterone/epitestosterone cream known as "The Cream"
•A synthetic and then-undetectable steroid derivative, tetrahydragestrinone, also known as "The Clear" or "THG"
    •Injectable human growth hormone
    •Injectable and oral anabolic steroids
    •Erythropoietin, or "EPO"
    •Modafinil, and
    •Clomid.

Interesting, I just know that there are many legal anabolic steroids that are legal and not on the banned list. As soon as Congress finds it, they ban it. If clomid is on the list, so should novadex, they are both used for the same purpose.

My question is if something is undetectable, why are people testing for it? MLB has no interest in catching these guys unless they do blood tests.
