No matter the outcome of this vote, fans of other teams still take Yao as the MVP of this seriers. I am bit surprised scola almost has as much vote as Yao, consider the amount of asain people on this site, most likely majority of white people vote for scola. No wonder why Yao didnt get any superstar call, most of people are racist, i have to say.
I would not go that far just yet. But I do agree with you that Yao deserves a little more credit than that shown in the poll. I guess most fans most likely only sees the shallow aka seeing the heroic plays. I didn't mean to start Brook bashing, but I think that was why Brooks had occasionally forgot to call a play and tried to be a one-man hero ---- because if he were successful the fans would just love it.
I love Yao but I just hate some of the yao only fans who eagerly label Yao as the "most dominant center", the "best player in the league", the "greatest leader of the team", and such. Yao has to earn it. He just dont have a free pass for everything.
"Racist"? Because they didn't vote for Yao to be MVP in some online poll? Seriously? This thread and the other related thread is ridiculous. You have people accusing people of Yao only Fans, you have people accusing people of voting for Scola as being T-Mac only Fans and most stupid of all you have people saying Yao should leave the Rockets since clutchfans aren't giving him unconditional love. C'mon this is stupid. The Rockets won as a team. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about who is the MVP but this was a team effort. Why get so worked up if one guy thinks Yao was the MVP another Scola and another Battier. They are all Rockets and lets root for them all!
I agree racist stuff is inappropriate for GARM, but I just love it you are so quick to call it a team effort when you yourself jump to cast your vote for an individual.
Yes, I voted for Battier. Am I not entitled to an opinion on a question regarding who the MVP is? Does that mean now that I hate Yao or hate Scola? I mean do you really think taht way? Also if you read my post explaining why I chose Battier you will see that I say it was a team victory and give Kudos to almost all of the Rockets.
This was a very tough decision. I voted for Scola but not by much. So many people contributed valuable things. Lowry was great drawing fouls and getting offense rolling off bench. Wafer was a much needed scoring punch in several critical spots.... It's a tough choice everyone contributed so much which is the main reason we are in the 2nd round!!!
I can imagine your "statistical" stuff. Save your breath. BTW, I just mentioned y0fs a little bit but you jumped out hard, really hard. hmmm...
Man, sure, Scola is a white player. But let me remind you, he is form Argentina, which makes him, latin american, and also South American, those are not communities that are usually loved by what you call racist.
Couple thoughts: Its racist for the "white guys" to vote for Scola in this poll, but not for the "asian guys" to vote for Yao??? Its ok for those who voted for Yao to say Scola played great and had a solid series not just getting shots but also hitting shots and playing solid defense on Aldridge. But its not OK for those who voted for Scola to say Yao played a great series and opened up shot opportunities for his teammates, all the while bringing solid defense and rebounding every night?? After all, if you voted for Scola, you are required by some minor sublaw somewhere to have a jealousy or hatred for Yao. Or is it that Scola is the new T-Mac only fan because the disenfranchised T-mac fans didnt automatically go to Yao. Just trying to understand the psychology of this board. Its very telling.
I would recommend that if you wish to talk about what is and what isn't racist, you take that crap to D&D where you will fit right in. this thread is for discussing who the fans feel was the MVP of the first round.....if you cant handle that and want to continue crapping all over this thread, I will close this one also. you make the call.
