For a lack of an edit button let me rephrase that: Anyone who vote against Yao in any kind of online voting poll is automatically labeled as a Yao hater.

    Well i am not a t-mac fan.

As i said before, Scola guarded half of portland best weapon (Roy-Aldrige pnroll) very well, and that´s got to be valuable.

We all know there is no double teams for the pick in the pnr. So basically it was all scola or roy defender´s. (artest/battier)

wow battier is so underrated in this poll. the man hit some VERY key shots down the stretch, and defended as well as you possibly could against his opponents, blocks, steals, points, rebounds, mvp

So, you think Yao did nothing?!

The interesting fact is that only two blazers did well in this series: Roy and Aldrige!

If you think I'm bashing Scola, you have no logic at all. I'm just stating the fact. Since when stating out fact becomes bashing?

I said Scola played very well, but there was no denying Scola got a lot open looks because of Yao, That's just a fact.

And to Scola's credit, his pick'n roll defense was very good too. But he obviously couldn't guard Aldrige one on one. I don't fault him too much on thisk since Aldrige was too good to guard by anyone on Rockets one on one anyway.

Aldrige was definitely double in some possesions, especially in game 2 if you go back to look at the video.

You must have been watching some other series, because Aldridge has some monster nights especially in those 2 wins. Although, we cannot simply blame it on Scola. Scola is an elite pick n roll defender in the league, however his post defense and man to man defense needs work. I have no problem with people voting for Scola, but please have more reasons aside from PPG.

The fact is, we wouldn't have won this series without either Yao or Scola. They were both very important to our success (as were many other players including Ron and Battier). You don't have to attack every single person who didn't vote for Yao. Yao getting a lot of attention allowed Scola to get good open shots, but on the other hand, Scola's scoring allowed Yao to be more effective in the last 2 games. Your opinion is NOT more valid than someone else's.

I didn't attack Scola. He made a big contribution to the rockets win. I am happy he is a rocket.

But, I do think Yao is the MVP of this series. And, he should get recognition that he deserves.

He is having the recognition, but as some here said, Scola had his share too.

Is not that we would have won this series with Landry in place of Scola, or with Mutombo in place of Yao.

Both were quite equally important, and that´s what the poll will show, as it is right now.

This was not a one man series where 80% of the people will say "X won it by himself" this was a team effort, and in that team effor there were 2 players that were great. Yao and Luis.

Battier is always underrated. Defense and intangible gets no credit from majority of the fans. Many people wanted Wafer over Battier.

I didn't accuse you of attacking Luis. I said you were attacking people who were choosing Scola over Yao in the poll. I agree that Yao should probably be leading this poll, but I can't really argue with people voting for Scola. I couldn't decide between the two, so I chose Dikembe. Dikembe was huge in game 1, and his presence on the sidelines was equally big even after the injury.

Scola definitely did a great job in the first round. But foundation??? It has to be Yao.

No question that scola play a great game, but have to say Yao is the foundation of the team strategy.

Yao is always going to be Yao. He is our primary scoring option or decoy, depending on how the defense plays him. However, it is Scola that was out there hitting his open shots and hustling on every single play. True Yao had more influential performance behind the stats, but I cannot help but vote for Scola for his consistent grit, hustle, heart, and the fact that he took full advantage of the opportunities that Yao gave him.
