So, what was Aldridge's performance in series, much worse than Scola?

basically, whatever impact aldridge had, scola countered. they didn't win that position and that was one of the 2 positions portland "supposedly" had an advantage talent-wise. scola and aldridge basically were even in terms of statistical output.

Clutch city, where expectation over actual value happens.

Just like several years ago, a washed-up Jimmy Jackson, who consistently stopped the ball to get his not-so-impressive stats, was voted MVP of the season over Steve Francis and Yao.

I don't mind Scola getting the votes, he's the best PF on Rockets since Yao became a Rocket and he's been over everybody's expectation including mine, but I can't stand some silly guy pull out "YOF" card again on this issue.

This pool shows how much Yao is hated (or jealous) by some people because he led the rockets to pass the 1st round first time in 12 years.

so who do you think is the MVP in the hawks series? i'd say mike bibby, just like JVG. but it was joe johnson who got all the double/triple teams and did the stuff that stars do.

I don't know that series too much!

But, I do wish the rockets sign JJ in 2010 to replace Tmac!

Scola played very well. But to be faire, it is not a wash. Aldridge only put a half body on Scola, the other half of him was on Yao. Scola was open so many times because of that, Aldridge didn't have that opportunity, even got double teamed sometimes.

No, the funniestthing is that anyone who voted for a player not name Yao as the MVP of the game for a certain game or a certain series is automatically named as a Yao hater. I despite people like you abc2007

yao is my mvp. Its already been mentioned, but He set the tone in game 1(the biggest game of the series). You guys have got to realize that without yaos prescense on the court, luis and ron ron would not get so many open looks.

Then you throw in yaos prescense on the defensive end and his passing out of double teams and you have an mvp.

If Yao saw this vote, he should know it's time for him to leave!

What night in night out production do you mean?

2 more total points in 6 games or 24 fewer rebounds?

Yao had 11/7, 7/13 games, Scola had 9/4, 12/5 games.

To me, It doesn't lookt like base on night in, night out production, but night in, night out expectatiion.

that is true. that's why i don't mind ppl saying yao is the MVP b/c you can make a case for him. from what i saw, scola scored v. aldridge when he didn't leave him and guarded him straight up. it's not like we struggled mightily to score points when yao sat down. like i said, if you want to get into the "momentum-shifting" kind of thing, lowry and wafer were the real catalysts. whenever they entered the game, the lead either got bigger or the deficit got smaller, making the game easier for the starters--perfect example was game 7. we won that game b/c of the 2nd unit.

This is a enxample of a Yao support post, by bashing Scola as the only argument.

Support Yao, talk about Yao, no need to bash all players.

I think Scola handled Aldrige fine, kept him honest for almost all series and compensed on the offensive end.

Portland did double scola from time to time, when yao was on the bench for example, and in the fourth quarter of game 5.

Yao also did a great defensive effort, he guarded pryzbilla and oden very well, Oden only got past him 2 or 3 times in all the series and Pryzbilla was a non factor offensively.

Aldrige was not doubled by us, he is a jump shooter of the pick and it is ridiculous to try and double that, specially if the pick n roll is with Brandon Roy.

Artest/Battier and Scola handled the portland pick n roll great, and that´s got to count.

People who value a lot offensively and T-Mac only fans are saying Scola is the MVP of the playoffs.

T-Mac fans don't want to accept that Yao Ming was the main reason why they got us out of the 1st round so they say Scola is the reason not Yao. I have no problem with Scola being considered the MVP, but some people need better reasonings aside from PPG averages.

That's funny. I vote many times for other players for the mvp of the week during regular season.

But, this time, it is a big deal! Because, it is the 1st time for the rockets to pass the 1st round in 12 years. Yao deserves this recognition.

You don't like me, that's fine! I don't like you either.
