Who cares about an award. Win some more series and get to the finals, make that his goal, not some individual award.

    Don't encourage htowdumbass

One decent thread doesn't make up for 50 garbage threads. Even _holic and bobbythefail are right once in about 50 times, doesn't mean much

The ultimate team prizes are still the WCF Championship or the NBA World Championship.

    Get odds for that.

I think you misunderstood. I'm not acting like Harden has too much help, because clearly he doesn't. 3 years ago on NBA TV during the off-season someone said that Harden shouldn't be in the conversation, because he has Dwight. Last year towards the end of the season, the media at times made it sound like Harden was surrounded by all-stars left and right. So yeah with CP3 on board and Melo potentially joining in the near future it is very likely that this will be something that takes him out of the race, especially if he can't replicate the season (a season for the ages) he had last year.

And yes my ranking stands, even if the Rockets get the 2 seed...Just looking at his time as a Rocket and how the media has voted and talked about him...I just don't see him being voted higher than 5th

Last year all that mattered was the mvp race. James knew it. Coach and gm knew it. We weren't winning **** besides player awards. If James would have taken the mvp I would have been overal happy with last year. James not winning and us sucking ass made last year a disappointment overal.

The only reasons I wanted Harden to get that award were:
    1) He deserved it
    2) So it can be behind him.
Its like a cloud that hovering over the team and create distructions. Who cares over individual awards? Its pure bulshit. He can win the Allstars MVP if he wants to, but when he's on the Rockets, think only one thing- How to win. Nothing else matters.
Last year we had a better chance than this year actually. Nobody is taking over GS unless they have an injury.
We just need to be in the situation that we are healthy, rested, have home court advantage to get to the confrence finals, and hope that someone on the Wariors injures himself.

Im saying that for Harden to get the MVP he will need to have an extra ordinary year way above anybody else in the league. I'm saying that in general there is an obvious biased treatment towards his defense and because his un attractive style of play. People outside of the Rockets just dont like him.
And there is the "Lebron effect" when you're that good for so many years, people just take it for granted, and its not a special story to be in the MVP race.
I guarantee you that Paul will get the credit if we have a 60+ wins season and Harden will have his "normal" 25, 8, 7.
And I will be happy with it.

MVP used to mean something. Now it's who the media wants award.
