Are you watching how easy it is to score in the paint when Yao goes out? You tell me where we are going to find another person who will stop that at 1.5 million. Plus someone who can increase team chemistry. Yes I think he is worth it.

If Boston gives him a better chance at winning a title, then good for him. It's clear the Rockets didn't value him enough to go after him seriously.

Boston, fine, but NOT San Antonio. Ugh the thought makes me throw up a little in my mouth.

I know I'm probably by myself on this one but I don't see benefit of signing Mutumbo. I love the guy, dont get my wrong. He's got a great heart and passion for the game.

However, he's old and only getting older, he can't even make layups anymore. He blocks but thats about all he can do. I think the Rockets can do better especially with Mr. Money Ball. Sure, Mutumbo made a nice run when Yao was out but even that was brief. I wouldn't let that sole performance become the overall image of what Mutumbo will always be like. Kinda like Tmac actually.

    One thing is clear:
The rockets need a big back up center that can defend the pain.

What does CD have to do anything with this? He has been gone for the last 2 years. I don't blame Mutombo for his decision, this is his last chance to get a ring and we are not good enough. Not making an overture to him because of Les was not the right thing to do though.

Good. Bye, Deke. We'll miss the 1.5 minutes per game you averaged last year when Yao was healthy. We will also miss your lack of production in the playoffs.

Actually, I appreciate what he did as a Rocket but this team's problems won't be solved by Mutombo.

Not to mention all the 2nd chance scoring opportunities other teams are getting, because our players either can't get the defensive rebound or can't hold on to it.

Dikembe is a lot slower than Yao and also 6 inches shorter. Not going to make a big difference.

We need a backup C indeed, but not Dikembe. I don't get the lovefest about him.

I dont know if he's worth it at this point. He is a great team player, but how long can this guy last? I would rather pick up a younger, fresh , cheaper center. How could we go from a 7'6 center down to a 6'10 center? Need a back up asap before we over work Yao

I thought the overall cost would be around 5 Million due to luxury tax.
