LOL, YOF...that's so last decade. Frankly, I don't really care if people actually call me YOF or not anymore.

Yeah, I'm enjoying the Rocket win and enjoying the good weather and doing some fun stuff. You instead, have to use this rockets moment to have a "look at me" moment on the BBS, which was jammed and down for a good couple of moments during the last two days BTW. Like a school girl.

And what happened to your sig? ooops. Not everyone act like you, but people notice.

As to AB, as I stated, game one was the best I've seen him play, especially after Rick chewed on him passing up open shots. Lakers defense will be much better from here out, and I soooooo wish AB can stay consistent.

    Enjoy the life.

Without a game as bad as Game 5 loss, AB wouldn't realize how wrong he did with the ball. To say this thread is 100% wrong is not only a stretch, it's simply ignoring the fact that AB corrected his mistakes after this, and OP was 100% correct about denying his ball hogging right if he didn't right his wrong.

So, you guys were complaining about ONE game then?

So, this whole thread should have gone in the GAME thread....thus the KNEE JERK label it deserves.

Yao came in 2002...right around the time you joined.....but anyway.....I am done....you made a bad thread......that should have gone in the GAME thread...

There is nothing wrong with being frustrated by bad play....heck, I get that way too......

    Peace Michecon.

But you would have to assume that he would not change it. That he would not review tape or have sessions with the staff and teammates that could correct the errors. This type of thinking fuels the fire of a lack of basketball knowledge. Some people don't ever get it(see David Carr) but that is what chapped the hides of some who came to defend AB in this and other threads. Patience people. Our coach has it, why not our fans?? He has forgotten more about basketball than 99% of the posters in here KNOW about it. (including me)

News to you: Yao Ming couldn't be polite and "suggesting" to AB anymore after that fiasco. He had to use strong words and took control. So, was Yao Ming knee-jerking?

Perhaps, but quite a few of these posters say Yao shouldn't re-sign with the Rockets, he should go to another team because Brooks and Artest are just after their stats, or Adelman is playing favorites with Brooks, etc. It's pretty clear what their agenda is.

I realize it's heat of the moment but you have to admit, having to wade through it does get pretty annoying. The quality of the discussions here suffers because of it.

If that's your case or complaint. You should address that particular poster, or posts.

Not at all, after all Yao is his teammate. One of the guys responsible for correcting the errors from game to game. He is not a whiney fan who has no bearing or clue whatsoever on what goes on in that locker room. He doesn't put words in ABs mouth or head like knee-jerk posters here tend to do.

We do, but it can also be on the people who are having their sentiments echoed (if a bit more slanderously) to tell them to lay off and make a little more sense.

Similar to how I am in the D&D. I am a repub but get highly annoyed by what the more vocal repub posters bring up in there.

Interesting...maybe you and DD were talking about different things after all. Or, are you suggesting strong reaction by YM is well deserved, but same strong reactions by BBSers are kneejerking?

I doubt they hang around to read the responses. You can tell they're here to vent and complain and that's all.

I just put them on my ignore list as I realized there are too many of them and it's not worth my time. Still, I find it sad to see them have so little respect for not only the Rockets team, but this board.

I think Yao did 100% the right thing in taking him aside and getting AB more in line with what the team needs.

I also think AB thought he was doing exactly what the coach wanted when he said be aggressive.....

Sometimes leaders and coaches need to explain it a little bit better, being aggressive means more than just shooting...and I think AB gets that.

My point was that he is YOUNG and will make mistakes, we have to learn to live with those, but because of that, AB will get better and the Rockets will be much better because of it.

So why would we even have a forum here. Just leave it all to coaches and players, and get rid of this BBS. Is that what you want? Or is it that you simply doesn't want others to have different opinions from yours at all? Quite laughable indeed.

    I agree with this.

Yao never implied that they had to get it out of his hands. They needed him to make smarter decisions. They needed him to get to the right spots to initiate the offense(I specifically remember the 45 degree angle thing from Yao's rant). They needed him to just shoot the ball when he is open and not hesitate. I am quite certain that the OP did NOT say any of that. Just something about getting the ball away from Brooks. And as DD said previously, that is flat out WRONG.

Agreed, but like michecon said respond to them individually or just ignore them. Don't use what these people say as an argument against others just because they have a different opinion. Discussion suffers because of this too.

No, we want KNEE JERK threads like this that are SCREWING UP real basketball discussion in the GARM to go into the proper place...the GAME thread.

Also it wouldn't hurt if people understood the game a little bit better before they posted.

    ;)
