you know winning Game 6 would not have won the NLCS for us, right? it just meant we'd have a Game 7...with Scott on the mound!

 

Game 6 would have won the NLCS, because Mike Scott was simply unhittable that year. And the Mets were scared to death of him, he had them beaten before they took the field.

So was Dave Smith until that last inning. Don't get me wrong, we had a great chance of winning game 7 if we had pulled it off. We had a BETTER chance of winning with Smith on the mound up 3 in the 9th.

a painful day, to be sure. watching bill doran cry in the dugout was just too much for me.

 

I think a little piece of my youth died that day. After that game I started to become cynical watching sports.

 

naw but he was the MVP this past season in japan. agbayani is a beast!
