Here is a BETTER angle of his dunk. There is no dotted line in these olympics. This video clearly shows how great it was:

Thanks, that is a much better angle. It's great dunk, an awesome dunk .. but saying he jumped over a 7'2 player is an overstatement. It's more like he jumped through Frederick Weis. That's why I said I think people are more take up by the idea of the dunk then the actual dunk itself.

Best dunker of all time, his all around repertoire is unmatched.

That dunk by Carter at 7:07 above was always my favorite Carter dunk.

I think he's the greatest dunker ever and it's not even close.

I still can't believe Rudy T had the guts to draw up that play for Vince.

    It's Carter or 'Nique really!

Wilkins did some pretty crazy things in traffic with his pump fakes etc - but he was more of a 2 foot power-slammer - I love #2 in the Dominique top 10 where his own teammate runs away as he starts heading towards the hoop 'look out - thunder time!'

Carter makes it look that little bit easier though.

Toss up for mine - but I always like Dominique so I'm gonna stick with the old guy!

It's not so much the specific skill, Dominique is the best power dunker to date. It's the fact that Vince did it all. He did Dominique-esque power dunks and windmills and free throw line dunks. He does power and finesse dunks.

There's no player with the versatility that Vince Carter has.

The guy took off from outside the NBA paint area! Man, how do you not see how great the dunk is?!

The guy isn't ducking to get out of the way, he's clearly trying to draw a charge and VC jumped straight over him. You're talking about players never jumping near the free throw line in games? When have you ever seen a guy jump over a 7 footer in a game?

IMO, this Tmac dunk is better (even though he took off closer to the basket) than the LeBron free throw dunk because there was a defender running in front of him.

I don't think that's the right question to ask. It's not that LeBron dunked from the free throw line. It's that he dunked from so far out. It's the distance of the dunk.

Similarly, to me its not about Vince dunking over a 7 footer. Its the height and trajectory of his leap to pull off that dunk. Alright, so have I ever seen a player pull a dunk like that from that far from the basket and get that type of elevation? I can't say I have ... Jordan might have.

I see that I'm fighting a losing battle here (especially considering that clip of T-Mac doing a very similar dunk as LeBron's when he was a Raptor). :D I'll concede the point, grudgingly. Carter's dunk over Weis is the greatest dunk in the history of the universe.

I can see what your saying, but that is one shi**y criteria. As much as a I love dunks where they are high in the air and take off from a distance, there is no real degree of difficulty. However, adding windmills, and 360's makes the dunk much greater. I hope your not saying this dunk is more impressive .....

    than this dunk...

Don't get me wrong, I love Dr. J and how he paved the way for new-aged dunkers. But there is no way you can convince me his dunk was better than J-Rich's.

It seems silly to argue about the "greatest" dunk since it is a subjective opinion ....

Anyway, I seem to recall that Jason Kidd was asked what the greatest play he's ever seen and he stated Carter's dunk over Weis ....
