mother tongue... well the first language i learned was Chinese. but i moved to america when i was pretty young. i love chinese though it's a cool language. that's why i took the time to translate his post. i wasn't trying to make fun of him. it was just interesting for me to try to figure out from the babelfish was the chinese was, and then go back into English. For example: Francis is a genius... that's obviously not what he wanted to say, nor is it likely to be true. however, direct translation of genius into Chinese is Tian Cai (mandarin) or tin choi (cantonese), which, in mandarin at least, has more of a "talent" connotation, irregardless of whether it's physical or mental. I think some software designer needs to write a better babelfish that takes context into consideration. It would be hard though.
