Ahhh too many to list, here's my current necessities: Plume (formerly Touiteur) - Best twitter app. I've tried the others. CamCard - great for taking pics of business cards for instant contact creation. Chase - if you have Chase, you can deposit checks via picture. badass. CraigsNotifica - You can setup alerts for craigslist searches WiFi File Explorer Pro - Explore your SD card over wifi, download/upload files Dolphin Web Browser - my favorite. ThinkFree Office - good office replacement, edit all office docs, and link with g docs SoundHound - better than Shazam in my opinion...has been more accurate Remote WebDesktop - kinda like LogMeIn, lets u access desktop from phone K-9 Mail - i like it better than the built in gmail app Calorie Counter - good for diets on the go Extended Controls - awesome customizable widget where u can set alot of quick things like data on/off, flashlight, screen lock, tether Games: PES 2011 - Amazing soccer game. Even if you don't like soccer, the graphics will blow you away. Hungry Shark - fun. Angry Birds - always a classic Music: Pandora Slacker TuneIn Radio
seeing the gas buddy suggestion, i want to suggest aCar aCar lets you input gas fill ups, maintenance, and whatever else you can think of associated to your vehicle, this is great for folks that does not have the 'premium' technology in their car it'll tell you mpg, gallons per dollar, fill up interval, $/day, miles/day, cost of ownership, etc etc some charts and graphs will require the 'donate' version, which is totally worth it, but i'm currently on the free version and it lets me track and graph my fill ups which is all i need great app, highly recommended
VNCviewer is also bad ass for remoting into servers. I can actually remote into Linux using that. Teamviewer also does the same.
Yes, K9 mail is amazing. It kills not only the stock gmail app, but the stock e-mail app in most ways
Here are some must haves: LauncherProPlus - homescreen launcher; once you purchase it, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783427 Titanium Backup - backup app/game, app/game data Beautiful Widgets - clock/weather widgets similar to HTC Sense; lots of skins Fancy Widgets - same as above Team CoCo - complete episodes on your phone!
Titanium is only for rooted users but I do agree, it is a must have for sure. Completely agree on Beautiful Widgets and LauncherPro (I use the plus version because I do like the widgets alot). (apologize if these have been posted) SMS client is Handcent keyboard is Swype movie app is IMDB real money poker app is Full Tilt Rush Poker (not a huge rush fan but its all we got) navigation is Google Navigation (use it often) alarm clock is Math Alarm Clock (requires you to do some algebra to switch it off, tho expert is actually pretty easy, it is better at anything else that wakes me up) voicemail client is Google Voice Bunch of others but those are my favorite apps
Whoa, I had no idea. Rep'd. K9 mail - if you only need Gmail access, is this still better? Does it do email threads like the Gmail app?
I've had a iPhone the last couple of years. Just recently I played around with my nieces Evo 4G and I was very impressed. Angry Birds is very addictive. I asked her how much she paid for Angry Birds and she said it's FREE. On iPhone I only get a trial version for free. I think I'm eligible for an upgrade soon and needless to say, I'm jumping ship to Android.
Passkeeper - lets you store all your usernames and passwords in 1 place. I store all my info from home and work, since I have 20 different applications I use for work with 20 different username/password requirements. And yes, it's password protected in case you lose your phone. WWDiary - Went on weight watchers last summer and lost 25 pounds (and kept it off) thanks to this app. Keeps track of your daily and weekly points. Does anyone know of a fun poker game that lets you play against the computer instead of other players? Also, what is the best calendar app that lets you keep track of appointments etc.? The stock one is kind of lame.
For Sprint users, if you're in a ****ty coverage area and want to switch over to Verizon (its free) download roam control by Mr. Greg in the market, you must have root access. Also, if you want to get out of your contract with Sprint, use this app nonstop and rank up like 800+ roaming minutes, you will be receiving a call.
JetFlicks. There's a monthly fee though. If you dive into the black markets, of course the opportunities are endless.
Just checked my account and I'm eligible for upgrade. I'm looking to get the newly released HTC Inspire so I did some reading online. Alot of places are saying that AT&T blocks 3rd party Android apps. What gives? Might as well get another iPhone then. But do not want!
Also, what is the best calendar app that lets you keep track of appointments etc.? The stock one is kind of lame. I use Android Agenda Widget. http://www.androidagendawidget.com/
There is a workaround, you can always root your phone, and remember you will probably need to jailbreak your Iphone to make it run some of the apps that stock android can. You wont be disappointed at all.
