Juice Defender is a very good battery saver.
    Works wonders on the MyTouch4G.

If you are a Dish subscriber: Dish Remote Access - Along with thier $30 Sling Adapter

    - Stream live TV to your phone
    - Watch your DVR recordings on your phone
    - Set your DVR from your phone
    - Use your phone as a TV remote

You don't even need the Sling Adapter to do the last two. Best $30 I ever spent...

I just found Llama and it kicks arse. Give it a try. It's like Tasker, but free.

Why does the newest update of Star Chart request that it be able to take pictures with either camera at any time on my Galaxy 2?

Is there an app that has all the maps already downloaded so you dont need a data plan or wifi to use? The iphone has the tomtom but does android have an app that does something similar?

Simpsons tapped out just came out, and it's free.

Can anyone recommend a free podcast app? I'm still using Google Listen despite being discontinued. I still prefer to download podcasts.

I don't think you need security app. Unless you plan on using pirated apps.

carbon for android was released last week and is probably the best looking twitter app out there, though not as feature rich as falcon pro. still prefer carbon and its smooth, unobtrusive animations.

I'd like to find a good music player that has the following features:
    - free
    - equalizer
    - play songs from a folder
    - "play this song next" feature

    any suggestions?

Try Antennapod (very good UI but lousy search function. I use this and I manually add podcasts)
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDEsImRlLmRhbm9laC5hbnRlbm5hcG9kIl0.

    or

Podkicker (lousy UI but fantastic search function)
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ait.podka&feature=related_apps

I search on Podkicker and listen on Antennapod

Give AMP a shot. Not sure whether it will satisfy all your requirements.
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDEsImFub3RoZXIubXVzaWMucGxheWVyIl0.

this is constantly under development. So try putting in a feature request. The developer is very responsive

PlayerPro, my player of choice, does all that. PowerAmp is another fantastic player that does all those things. I just like the interface for PlayerPro a little more. But you can't go wrong with either.
