hahaha do you really think theres any chance in hell for sharia in the US? i really dont. plus historically sharia only applies to muslims. the millet system during the ottoman times etc. muslims have too many divisions. the most fascinating and sad from a muslims standpoint would be the african american muslim faction vs. the immigrant muslims. its a real divide and because of it muslims simply dont have the collective force to accomplish much.
I really hope not. But I wouldn't have thought we'd see it in Canada either, much less having Canadians saying its a great step forward.
im not familiar with these but what about the jewish courts in new york? isn't that the comparison...not saying oh no we'll have people chopping off hands. interms of splitting property with inheritence/divorces i dont think thats 'applynig the sharia' in the sense we think.
