Reading is not your strong suit, nor is Bayesian inference.

I would hesitate to fly on any Middle Eastern run airlines - I don't believe they have the same security measures as the US and EU airlines do.

As for pilots named Mohammed - interesting question - maybe they should publish the pilots names before the flight?

That way if tons of people are shying away from traditional Islamic names they will realize it is hurting them financially and get busy rooting out the evils of their own religion instead of sitting idly by and letting it be hijacked out of fear.

Ultimately you have to turn the tide of the perception in the Islamic community and force them to become more active in cleaning up their own group.

This is the real point and not at all racist. Metrojet Flight 9268 and now EgyptAir Flight 804 had a country in common. EgyptAir Flight 804 is bigger news because the security could have failed in France.

What's next, printing the names of video game developers on the box? Printing all the kitchen help on the menu in a restaurant?

Does it make you nervous to ride in a cab? After all, there are plenty of cab drivers named Mohammed.

What about the flight attendants' names? Mechanics? Baggage handlers? Caterers? Security agents?

A couple of guys named "Dylan(n)" massacred a bunch of people in separate incidents. Should we refuse to let people named Dylan(n) buy guns?

What if Mohammad's middle name was 'Wayne'?

    Captain Mohammad Wayne Gacy Jr.

Or, better yet, what if it was Ali?

You'd hesitate to fly Emirates or Qatar?

You say the dumbest things and don't realize how dumb they sound. Must be nice.

True. It is bigotry. Which is just as bad.

Also having the name Mohammed does not make you muslim. And being muslim does not make you a killer. So being afraid of people called Mohammed makes you a bigot.

It will show what was known for a century after Appomattox and forced Ike, Earl Warren and LBJ to call in the 101st Airborne and rewrite the judicial and legislative library; that most bigotry and discrimination is personal and local in nature and can only be stopped with government action at its highest level. I'm not sure in what universe private companies with global customer bases will rewrite a global, 1400-year old religion.

Persecuting and discriminating against people usually does the trick to make them do what you want, right?

I was in Paris recently. I entered via EuroStar from London, and flew out from Paris back to London.

The security, specifically at the airport was unbelievably lax. So much for 'High Alert'.

Regular US security was 10x the strength.

I could believe a bomb made it's way onto a flight leaving Paris. Wholeheartedly.

Maybe the French think it's "intolerant" to ramp up security!

We flew out of CDG Thursday - shortly after the Egypt Air flight crashed. There was no additional security. Just the typical stuff.
