LOL, well all I know is by buying the music, I can't get in trouble, so therefore I'm not stealing, aka I wont get sued.
I listened to that one to death a few months ago, and I go back to it for just certain songs from time to time. I will definitely go back to it again before too long.
Nitin Sawhbey has great stuff. I thought I was the only one who listened to this British-Indian sound master.
I recently dropped a fair amount of dough on some CDs: Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins -- Rabbit Fur Coat Death Cab For Cutie -- Plans The Killers -- Hot Fuss Special Edition Fiona Apple -- Extraordinary Machine Our New Orleans Another New Orleans CD whose name I can't remember and is in the car
yeah i don't know any that listens to him either (in the US, at least)...do you have any recommendations on other good Asian Underground stuff?
Anyone on here have audioscrobbler (last.fm)? it's a pretty cool gadget...mines linked off my signature
Yeah, BMoney, Jo Mama definitely has good taste, but you always have cool choices as well. I have a real soft spot for Suoergrass. I need to get their newest. Have you heard it yet? It just kinda slid in under the radar. Your choice of Ram kind of excites me as I too have been listening to it alot of late. I've never been a big fan of McCartneys solo career, but Ram is just DAMN GOOD! It's quirky for sure, but the songs are really solid and escapes the 'silly love songs' stuff McCartney soon after mired himself in yet still also avoids him taking himself to seriously mode as well. The guitar waork on Ram is top-notch and not something I appreciated till MANY years after.
Thanks for your kind words, Win. The latest Supergrass album, "Road to Rouen" is worth checking out. The song structures are less pop than previous albums...it is one of those records that grows on you. Kind of somber for them and more of a consistent tone than previous records. "Ram" is relatively recent discovery for me considering I'm a life-long Beatle-head. I really love it..I like the combonation of lo-fi production with those arrangements. Even at his most sacherinne Paul would always have some interesting things going on in his songs. I think "Ram" is one of his most consistent.
