Anyone else going to Psych Fest 3 in Austin? I went last year, and it was a good time. This year it's going to be at The Mohawk... probably my favorite venue in Austin. http://www.austinpsychfest.com/#/lineup I'm going Sat & Sun. Going to Beach House/Washed out on the Friday before (here in Houston). Thankfully I've already seen 4/7 bands for Friday's line-up. Wish I could see The Raveonettes again. And I wouldn't mind seeing Warpaint, but maybe I'll check out their show in Houston.
Do you like Nickel Eye? That is bassist Nikolai Fraiture's solo album. Yeah, I have Nico's album and I like it. They are all ridiculously talented on their own. They truly are a fab 4. to me I just want a new Strokes album really bad. The only band I would honestly tattoo a logo of on me. I don't know what to
I think they have already finished their new album, according to interviews they have given recently. They are debuting new material at some festivals over the summer apparently. I saw The Strokes first play back in 2001 or 2002 and the Kings of Leon opened for them. Know one knew who KOL were back then, and people were booing for them to get off the stage so The Strokes could start. I'm not a KOL fan though.

Denton starts its Arts & Jazz Festival next weekend and Friday night (23rd) Chick Corea Trio will be on the "Jazz Stage" at 9pm. That is where you'll find me with my shiner...oh, wife and friends too.
Local Natives at Mangos next Saturday. I was hoping to see Beach House at Walters next Friday, but I guess it's sold out, I've been trying to tickets online for over a month.
I think I'm going to be at both those shows. Also Phoenix and Deer Tick. I haven't booked my plane ticket to Houston as yet, but I already have my tickets for those shows. Beach House is sold out. I spoke to the folks at Sound Exchange on the phone, and they told me it has now been sold out for a few weeks. Walter's capacity is only like 250 ppl or so. Beach House played in town back in 2008 or so, and there were only 50 people in the audience. We all got to sit down in chairs and listen to the grand voice of Victoria in leisure. Things have changed quickly for this amazing band. I think they have sold out every venue on their current tour.

I agree. I wasn't that big of a fan of his album.. but I am a HUGE fan of the strokes. If he wasn't the frontman for the strokes I probably woldn't be there.. and I pretty much payed 30 bucks to hear them play hard to explain (the strokes) which was pretty bad ass btw.
