I would say the entire experience topped my RH Red Rocks trip. It was like seeing you favorite band at a backyard BBQ or say a slightly bigger Last Concert Cafe, it was that intimate. As a venue it's hard to top Red Rock and as you mentioned the George being one that could!!
If anyone likes or is interested in checking out the music of PHiSH, there's a good cover band from Austin called A Live One at Last Concert Cafe tonight. It's not the same as the real thing, of course, but it's ****ing fun nonetheless.
Have tickets in hand for the following: 7/26 - Hard Working Americans at Stubbs 9/12 - Delta Spirit at Fitzgeralds 9/17 - Chris Robinson Brotherhood at Fitzgeralds 9/27 - Ryan Bingham and Old 97s at Sunken Gardens Hoping to hit Tom Petty on 9/25 and Wu-Tang in Vegas on 9/19. Also may try to swing The War on Drugs at Stubbs on 9/28, but that might be tough.
Going to travel to Louisiana on Oct. 11 to go see Paul McCartney. I also want to go see Aerosmith/Slash on Aug. 25th and Kiss/Def Leppard on Aug. 31 if time allows it
Saw Lionel Richie at the Woodlands a couple of weeks ago. Great concert, lots of Commodores songs. Dude is 65 and still puts on a helluva show. A buddy of mine knows the guitar player and got us backstage passes, so we got to meet the band after the show (not Lionel though). But I did get to drink Cee Lo's beer.
Recevied a rep for this one that I can only assume came from TnF. If so, would love to meet you at the show!
Checking out The Silent Comedy who will also be at Sunken Gardens...I dig! Should be a great freaking night of music!
Aug 10 Mayhem Fest Aug 16 NIN / Soundgarden Aug 25 Aerosmith / Slash Aug 31 Kiss / Def Leppard Sept 5 L;inkin Park / 30 Seconds to Mars Oct 11 Motley Crue / Alice Cooper I went to this tour last week in Dallas and it was great
The Summit bout 10 years ago. He sang 4 maybe 5 hits the rest of the show was B side tracks that he thought should have been hits, but the man held him back. Kind of a political statement show bout how he's not selling out to the man. Side note saw Johnny Lee this past weekend in Cypress. He's still looking for love and still awesome. Played right at 2 hours.
