Oh yeah, it is crazy. It sucks that I live outside of Houston too so I can't make all of them. Like I have tickets for Vampire Weekend on 10/7, but then LCD Soundsystem popped up, and with school and gas and stuff its tough to make the drive twice in a row, and I wanna go to LCD more (wanna see LCD more and its on a friday night which is a big plus) so now I gotta sell my Vampire Weekend tickets (already bought LCD tickets). Now if either one of them had come through here on the first leg of their tour, there'd be no problem and I could see both. Ghostland and Massive Attack would both be great but I'll at Voodoo Fest during those two, and Of Montreal would be fun but I don't know who I could bring to that and I dont wanna go alone. Also wanted to see Jonsi on 10/27 but probably wont get to which sucks, and wanted to see the Gorillaz but too damn expensive. But October is a crazy month. Though I may only get to do LCD and Voodoo Fest for it. Oh well, spring I'll have Arcade Fire and hopefully Radiohead and the Strokes. White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age, and Foo Fighters would all be cool too. And I really want Daft Punk to tour too. Spring could potentially be pretty crazy also.
Do you post on the Coachella boards? I've exchanged PM's with a poster over there and it sounds exactly like you.
I'm going to see LCD and Vampire at ACL. Alreadt saw Ghostland at New Braunfels. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE OF MONTREAL.
Bought my tix to the Pixies at Verizon for Sept 20th. Had to get upper tier as I'm too old for GM and the standing. Beyond excited!
Got my tickets for this today. Never seen The Strokes live, so totally excited. The Strokes! Stubb's BBQ (Austin) October 6th For anyone interested, this and the rest of the ACL Pre-Shows can be found here
Blue Oyster Cult, September 29. One of my all-time favorites. I GOT A FEVER, AND THE ONLY PRESCRIPTION IS: MORE COWBELL! <embed src="http://www.ebaumsworld.com/player.swf" allowScriptAccess="always" flashvars="pageurl=http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/628756/&file=http://media.ebaumsworld.com/mediaFiles/video/431176/628756.flv&mediaid=628756&title=SNL more cowbell skit&tags=skit, sketch, will, ferral, snl, standup, coemdy, cowbell, haha, lol&description=My personal favorite skit with Will Ferral. I've seen The Strokes a few times live. They always put on a good show, and play all their classics. I saw them first live back in 2002 or so, and Kings of Leon opened for them. I distinctly remember the people in the crowd booing KOL to get off the stage so The Strokes would go on. Now KOL are like twice as big as them.
Big? KOL are garbage. They are a pop band now so they play to a bigger audience. If the strokes wanted to sell out then they could be 2X bigger.
I want to see the Strokes really badly. I'm hoping they come by Houston next year since I'm assuming they are touring with the new album. Wish I could go to ACL but yeah And KOL may be bigger now but the new stuff that got them so big is absolute garbage. I dont mind their old stuff, decent southern rock, but I hate that new album and they seem like they've let the fame get to their heads. My friend wants me to go with him to see KoL in September but I'm not sure if I will. Black Keys are opening though, but meh
I was at that show...Verizon Wireless. They stopped there twice touring for their second album. KOL got huge because they decided to change their sound and make pop garbage that appeals to the masses. Still, it has made them a huge amount of money and they are famous, so if that is what they were going for, they achieved it.
So many great shows coming up. It's ridiculous. Tera Melos Peelander-Z Pavement Sonic Youth Built to Spill Polvo Joanna Newsom Cocorosie The Fresh and Onlys Lower Dens Fun Fun Fun Fest Wallet's gonna be a tad bit empty.
ughhhh. Wish I had money. and I'd love to see Beach House but I really don't care for Vampire Weekend.
