Going to see Wagner's Tristan and Isolde this Sunday at the Seattle Opera. I'm trying to make my way through all of Wagner's works. I missed out on the Ring Cycle last year with the birth of my son. I'll definitely catch it in 2013.
Ok, so are you from Houston? I played with My Education a few years ago in Austin. Also, I know Brandon of Co-Pilot. I'll try and make it out tonight.
Ooorrr you could make it out to Rudz one week before, Nov. 6 and see my band's CD release show; Inner Lights will be playing our self-titled debut LP start to finish along with friends Thunderbolt Suit. A real rock show!
I just saw Queensryche at the House of Blues last Friday. Awesome show. Next on the list: The American Carnage Tour with Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. If I suddenly stop posting after Carnage, it is because I rocked myself to death and thus died happy.
For sure, I'll be going to: A.A. Bondy at Mango's on Westheimer tomorrow night Jonsi at vzw theater citizen cope at vzw theater interpol at hob Maybe(depends on $$): vampire weekend at vzw theater paramore at cwmp KOL at cwmp crystal castles at hob Moenia at hob
I noticed that Local Natives are returning to town. Last time they were here at Mango's-200 people were shut out of the show. Also Born Ruffians, CocoRosie, Junip (Jose Gonzalez), Holy ****, Plants and Animals, Foals, Stars, Delays, Blitzen Trapper and Here we go Magic. I never thought these bands would ever play in Houston. Has anyone been to Fitzgeralds now that Jagi of Pegstar bought that place out? Most of the shows are at that venue now.
Just played Fitz in July, was our best show yet. A great venue that will only get better now that Pegstar have it. Rumor is they going to try and make it a 600 capacity. I think it will be shut down for a month to do an update.
They don't take over until September. The official "opening" show is the Drums show on September 23rd I believe.
Reportedly Arcade Fire manager said Texas dates in Spring. That better mean a Houston date. Though, I was wondering, where would they play in Houston? Too big for Verizon Wireless Theater or House of Blues, probably not big enough for Toyota Center. I guess maybe the Woodlands Pavillion? Though do they ever play ampitheaters? Either way, they better have a Houston date, and I'll buy tickets day one.
Considering two of the bandmembers are from Houston then I would pencil in a Houston date right now if I were a betting man.
Yea, they just played at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, Maryland. That is an amphitheater just like Woodlands. Actually in fact, Win Butler made a reference to sneaking into Woodlands Pavillion when he was a youth while talking to the audience at the show in Maryland.
Woodlands sounds kind of perfect then. The only other thing I see them playing at is the 2011 edition of Free Press Summer Fest.
So many good shows coming up for me that it's down right ridiculous: 10/7 - Vampire Weekend w/Beach House @ Verizon 10/9 - Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros @ Warehouse Live 10/8 - LCD Soundsystem @ Verizon 10/29 - Ghostland Observatory @ Warehouse Live 11/1 - Massive Attack w/ Thievery Corp @ Palladium (Dallas) 11/4 - Of Montreal w/Janelle Monae @ Numbers
