Foals is the best math rock band around these days. Battles is pure math rock though. For some it's hard to embrace this genre, but the technical quality of it is brilliant.

You have Young Mountain? Lots of it sounds like a straight-up, kid brother, wanna be sound. Also, I didn't say they were influenced by EITS, just that they sound like them. PR is a broad category. I like EITS, TWDY, Mogwai, God is an Astronaut, Yndi Halda, Six Parts Seven. However I can't say who is the best, that's a taste thing. There are people who worship Zappa.
I'm...ah....yeah...SO WHAT!?!?!? I LIKE IT!!! Day 5 of Shoegazing/Dream Pop/Influences on Shoegazing: Whirlpool - Chapterhouse Isn't Anything - My Bloody Valentine (just as good as "Loveless") Pygamalion Demos - Slowdive (thanks to...you know who you are!) Playing With Fire - Spacemen 3
Check out Ecstasy and Wine. It's a compilation of two EPs (Ecstasy and Strawberry Wine). Came out in between Isn't Anything and Loveless. Good stuff.
The last couple of days you've tried replying to threads and ended up replying to this thread: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=9 Was this just an accident on your part both times? I'm trying to find out if there is a problem with the board, but it was your account both times so I'm wondering if there's a problem on your end when replying.
No, sir. Not sure what the problem is but I can assure you that wasn't even in the NBA section when I replied to this thread. I think it was the same thread both times, also.
stipend and Torn, Isn't that MBV compilation pretty rare and pricey? Like copies going for 30 or more dollars?
Sure is. I recently saw it at Sound Exchange for $40 (roughly). The responsible me prevailed as I did not buy it... but god damn did I want it.
I had that MBV comp at one point, it wasn't anything like their later stuff, very jangly guitars. Only for completists. So I guess it's yer list now Manny?
Wow. stipendlax found a glitch in clutchfans matrix that allows him to go back in time and post in 10 year old threads about bands that didn't even exist yet? Indie Cred +100000000!
Hehe, well I might have to pass on that one, especially with me now getting an interest in some of these new math rock groups like Foals and Battles. Which reminds me - Brightside, damn dude - how are you constantly getting all these indie releases? Downloading from some website??
