I've also listened to xx a few times, but didn't really do anything for me. I'll try again maybe on the weekend. Did you happen to attend any one of their 37 shows they played at CMJ recently?
haven't seen them live. can't put my finger on why but they remind me early new order. but modern. not political. all about sex. but somehow like new order.

So... all of these songs are playing at the same time? Why not just post the ONE SONG or ONE SOUND to which you're listening?
I put together a Windows Media Playlist with the longest songs I could find in my collection- of course, I'm missing several from groups like Yes and ELP (and jams from the Grateful Dead), but some of these were surprising (non-prog rock songs): 1. Thick as a Brick- Jethro Tull- 44 minutes 2. Mountain Jam- The Allman Brothers- 33 minutes 3. Dazed and Confused (live)- Led Zeppelin- 27 minutes 4. Atom Heart Mother- Pink Floyd- 24 minutes 5. Echoes- Pink Floyd- 22 minutes 6. 2112- Rush- 21 minutes 7. Do Your Thing- Isaac Hayes- 20 minutes 8. Dogs- Pink Floyd- 17 minutes 9. Hibernation (live)- Ted Nugent- 17 minutes 10. Brother Where You Bound- Supertramp- 16 minutes 11. Concierto de Aranjuez- Miles Davis- 16 minutes 12. My Generation (live)- The Who- 16 minutes 13. Chameleon- Herbie Hancock- 16 minutes 14. Do What You Like- Blind Faith- 16 minutes 15. Voodoo Child- Jimi Hendrix- 15 minutes 16. Sugar Magnolia (live)- Grateful Dead- 15 minutes 17. Naked Eye/Let's See Action-The Who- 14 minutes 18. Firing up the shoegaze and dream pop for the next couple of days: Day 1: Psychocandy - The Jesus and Mary Chain (this was a holdover from a couple of days ago as I finally got around to listen to it again today) Loveless - My Bloody Valentine Split - Lush Mezcal Head - Swervedriver
Isaac has a version of "By The Time I Get to Phoenix" that goes over 20 minutes long. I saw him do the epic version in concert in the 90's and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Just incredible.
Mary Onettes- Islands Swedish art rock goodness! New album was released yesterday. This video below is from their first album.
