i saw king gizzard and the lizard wizard on saturday and it was the best show ive seen in a long, long time. the quality and quantity of what they do is really impressive. and all the different stylistic directions they go in while still sounding like themselves. great musicianship. they would go from psych rock to 80's metal to afrobeat to tears for fears style grandiose 80's pop to GBV style 90's jangle. im kind of thinking this might be the best band in the world right now. they have like 20 albums in 10 years and theyre all very listenable. its overwhelming. i just put a random one on and ive yet to be disappointed. this was when they opened with saturday.
For a moment, I had Shiner as the name of the song and Lula Divinia as the band. Then I realized that Shiner is the band and Lula Divinia is the song.
Listening to so much LOW today. Mimi succumbed to her cancer -- just 55 years old. She was sick and knew she wasn't probably going to make it when they recorded Hey Now.
Very sad about Mimi Parker… Changing the iPod from punk to hard rock/heavy metal/prog: Diamond Head - Lightning to the Nations Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
Sorry, one more. That double negative album is pretty amazing. Still pushing themselves well into their third decade. RIP Mimi.
I heard that Tame-One from the 90s rap group Artifacts passed away. Been listening to one of my favorite rap albums.
