You and I have the same taste in music. My favorite from The Eraser is Harrowdown Hill. I watched some special on some random channel (sorry can't remember the name and I'm sure I could google it but I'm being lazy tonight) called Portishead in Portishead where they played some of the tracks from the new album. IMO it is a bit different from what I'm used to from them, but still awesome. There were a couple of tracks that really stood out. As for Nails - I wasn't too sure about Year Zero at first listen, but it grew on me, as much as any other album.

Wow, didn't realize these guys had that many albums. I always assumed "Breakfast in America" was their 15 minutes (love the hits on that one, maybe I should listen to the rest). What's the story on their other stuff? I never hear about them for some reason.
Actually, they have 2 albums before that- Supertramp and Indelibly Stamped. Really raw stuff, don't prefer it much. Crime of the Century is a great album- you'll hear School, Bloody Well Right, and Dreamer fairly frequently on rock radio. Crisis What Crisis is pretty obscure- good, but not great. Even in the Quietest Moments has a big hit "Give A Little Bit" that is on some popular commercial nowadays and was also covered by the Goo Goo Dolls. Breakfast In America- nuff said. Famous Last Words had an MTV hit with "It's Raining Again" but it doesn't get played much on radio today. Very good album. After this, Roger Hodgsen left the group (he's the singer on most of their hits, "The Logical Song," Breakfast in America", etc.), and Brother Where You Bound is the group with Rick Davies as the lead singer (the one who sings on "Goodbye Stranger"). Very good album- especially Cannonball. Most of their stuff pre-Breakfast is closer to "progressive rock"- longer songs, primarily. Breakfast and Famous are more pop-oriented, and Brother is a mix- pop songs, but it also has a 16-minute song on it. Recommend Breakfast and Crime of the Century, then maybe Famous and Even in the..."
