I can't get away from the Power Pop. Every decade's had 2 great power pop bands and albums: 60s The Who- Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy The Kinks- Greatest Hits 70s The Ramones- Mania Cheap Trick- Heaven Tonight 80s The Smithereens- Especially For You The Replacements- Tim 90s Weezer- Blue Album Green Day- Dookie
That Cheap Trick song is GAWD awful. Don't ever have anyone listen to that again. I'm going to hope I redeem it with a couple fun Ramones' songs... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zGgfHZ02I2k&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zGgfHZ02I2k&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/O8m2LpYGV0E&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/O8m2LpYGV0E&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Man, the stuff you find on YouTube: This was the version of "I'm Losing You" that was supposed to be on John Lennon's Double Fantasy when CT recorded with him in '80, but the record company deemed it too "hard." So they re-recorded it with other session musicians, even though Lennon preferred this version. Yes, even Lennon had to listen to the execs. Shame. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/im3AUiCGqnk&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/im3AUiCGqnk&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Say Goodbye <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3tC_l6TThE8&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3tC_l6TThE8&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Way of the World <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/y1JuM8fP2dM&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/y1JuM8fP2dM&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> OK- must stop now- remind self- be a fan, not a fanatic.
