Ryan Adams - Life after Deaf. I didn't even know this album existed. It was a very small relase only on 12 vinyl LP's. There is a total of 174 live tracks here, and none of them are anything less than full songs. Adams played solo concerts with just his guitar (or occasionally piano) all over Europe after getting his Meniere's disease under control: <div style="float: left; width: 50%;"> <ul> <li>Cork</li> <li>Dublin</li> <li>Stockholm</li> <li>Oslo</li> <li>Malmo</li> <li>Copenhagen</li> <li>Lisbon</li> <li>Porto</li> </ul> </div> <div style="float: right; width: 50%;"> <ul> <li>London</li> <li>London (#2)</li> <li>Brighton</li> <li>Manchester</li> <li>Glasglo</li> <li>Oxford</li> <li>Amsterdam</li> </ul> </div> This is a total b**** of an album to get ahold of. First you need a truly top notch record player. Who has those anymore? I saw someone selling MP3 copies of the set for between $250-$300 (I'm not exactly up to the exchange rate to USD from british pounds). The only full unopened copy on Ebay is listed at $1200! Thank god for Amazon Prime. You can download the whole album for free. Obviously, with a single electric guitar he doesn't play the heaver part of his catalog. Nothing off "Rock and Roll", not a single rendition of "Magic" But, he plays a couple of good old Whiskeytown songs: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NWZBGQkfRak" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9NkptWojbDo?list=PL26m0gnLo4EZ6iYyAfs8pyJnLt3V2OpdW" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> and he plays the classics you want to here: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/i_pzHjRF1iQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/5QC_8BPGgpU?list=PL26m0gnLo4EZ6iYyAfs8pyJnLt3V2OpdW" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/RckhXy0M2EU?list=PL9cWYAwG7LtndpyA8TYqjvKmDXx3DzSLD" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qTK5eeUhwmc?list=PL9cWYAwG7LtndpyA8TYqjvKmDXx3DzSLD" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/doIlsqEPSDk?list=PL9cWYAwG7LtndpyA8TYqjvKmDXx3DzSLD" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The only bad part is, since he's recording different shows on different nights there is a ton of repetition. He plays "Sylvia Plath" about 5 times, and "Desire" about the same amount. If you already like Adams I recommend it. These stripped down renditions of songs you already like are awesome. Maybe not the best introduction if you've never heard a Ryan Adams track before, though.
