[rant] I had a similar breakpoint way back and stopped watching awards shows a long time ago. (At the admitted expense of missing some great live performances) Even when the winners actually matched to my tastes "who I wanted", the self-congratulatory approach became off-putting. And all the backroom politic'ing involved made presentations seem evident it wasnt anything about being tuned into the fans and listeners. I actually stopped reading music reviews too. (I never have and probably never will visit Pitchfork, out of spite). I'd think I'd be a decent music critic, I like talking music and its broad subjectivity. Though for me its the listening experience that counts in the end, rather than a righteous opinion of what the listening experience "should" be. [/rant] (But I'll sure ATTEND an awards show if I ever could )

Hey Manny - I really love that Psych Furs 'Talk Talk Talk' album. I think history has not been as kind to the Furs as they deserve. Maybe because of their small moment of MTV popularity or Pretty in Pink, but "Talk Talk Talk' really brings the goods and just one listen to 'In To You Like A Train' should make that clear. Also, cheers to Ottomon for referencing Old 97's 'Too Far to Care'..... Both are really great albums and very unlikely to be mentioned anywhere but here.
