Just noticed that we could now rate BBS Hangout threads; so I just did this one. Hooray!

been quite onderwhelmed with what's been coming out lately. been having to take a reach back. where are all the good rock bands?
Lately I've been looking into less popular early Seattle/Grunge bands that I previously ignored (Green River, Mudhoney, Melvins, Mother Love Bone, Tad). However, Love Battery is one of these bands I feel are extremely underrated.
I'm on a nostalgic trick...which always happen on holidays Thought Manny Ramirez (OP) might like this album

i've been going back a bit further, link wray, yardbirds, sonics... spinning forward, can someone explain the new arcade fire album to me as if i were a three-year old?

Been listening to the new Blood Orange album
The rumor in my elementary school at the time was that they actually had a robot that appeared to peel open the roof of the summit and threateningly peek in on the show like on the "News of the World" album cover. I found it difficult to believe, but could never get over how cool that would be. Been back on a Yes kick lately... having seen them earlier this year with a new John singing, I've been comparing that new album with the only other Yes album where Jon Anderson wasn't singing, investigating how much of my aversion to them leaving Jon behind on that tour was because he's awesome and how much was based on the nostalgia of it. Love this album, and their new one has some musically fine moments, but "Fly to Here" is no "Tormato." The show was really great, especially since they played three of my favorite albums of all time in entirety, and the singer nailed it, it really was great, but he is still no Jon Anderson.
Jason Isbell - Southeastern As I develop my top 15 albums of the year in my head, this one keeps landing in the top 5.
