This Album popped up in my mind today. It was the first album (yes vinyl) that my wife and I bought together as a couple in 1973. I'm sure everyone on here knows (and is burnt on) Steve Miller from the MTV days but this was an anthology album decades before MTV, so some of the albums it is taken from are actually from the late 60's. I think it holds up pretty well 30 years later as hippified rock music. (it sure is nice to listen to it without having to attend to a phono needle) enjoy <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/QW2wJ4b_-uk?list=PLNFj577jJ7sPCQUXweJmGtJ925ZBdyRJr" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Seems like a good home for this. <object width="640" height="480"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/mYKLvYGqaC0?hl=en_US&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/mYKLvYGqaC0?hl=en_US&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> Somewhat comical how much they would go to the pianist. But props to aaron okeefe's music school!

Quite a good year for female artists. Several pop/synthpop albums I like (as an aside, some with very cute/pretty girls). Charli XCX Spoiler <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/S7cOt-xFU8Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Chvrches Spoiler <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/_mTRvJ9fugM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Sky Fereirra Spoiler <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/IFCZP1Nz3Ds" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> And then there's the all-girl noise-rock band Savages that sound like a cross between Siouxsie and the Banshees and Sonic Youth. Many people probably won't make it past the singer's voice, but they rock pretty well. Axis TV was running the Yes 35th anniversary concert last week. It was actually filmed in 2009. I will tell you this, Steve Howe is a bad ass old man. He's really only 62 in this but he looks 102. Apparently he has no arthritis issues. (Howe was voted "Best Overall Guitarist" in Guitar Player magazine five years in a row (1977–1981) and in 1981 was the first rock guitar player inducted into the Guitar Player Hall of Fame. The only other two guitarists to win the "Best Overall Guitarist" category for the "Gallery Of Greats" are Steve Morse and Eric Johnson. wikki) Anyway this is one of my favorite Yes songs and it's not one most people know. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/EF7kFAy8rU8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Here's the whole thing: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/lZTZNNpMJP8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/WLOLnMQghDI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I am kinda digging this new collaboration track between Linkin Park and Steve Aoki. "A Light That Never Comes" <iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/RsKQOm_iJug?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
someone recommended The Features to me. I'm checking it out now. So far I like it. It isn't groundbreakingly great or anything, but I like it just fine.
Now I have just started listening to country to get my studies done quicker but I gotta give a shout out to Kacey Musgraves's album Same Trailer Different Parks, which IMO, is an absolute master class of an album. Honest, deep lyrics talking about struggles and our place in the society were brilliantly written. For those who want something slower and calmer to get some peace in their minds should give it a shot. Highly recommended. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BnCN3ONOf0
