For some reason, it's always satisfying to listen to this pair of classic songs together -- a lovely procession from one song to another. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/wdPvN7HOLh8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> + <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cIKugx1sToY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Interestingly, completely independent of all the posters in this thread, I dug out a couple of old VU albums yesterday. This is genuinely a serious contender for the greatest song ever, and it is a blast to play on guitar, especially if you aren't particularly good: <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PK4DeMYtumc?hl=en_US&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PK4DeMYtumc?hl=en_US&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> (BTW, I'm listening to the self-titled album. The entire album is beyond amazing. The flashy, noisy, cacophonous, dissonant albums get more attention, but IMO "The Velvet Underground" is easily the best VU album.)

I saw them at Liberty Hall in August of 1972. It's not the only time I saw them. Yeah, the poster below says $2.50 - $3.50 a ticket. Saw the Electric Prunes at The Living Eye in Spring Branch in the mid-'60's. I have very fond memories of the cheap ticket prices. Pretty much all I did was chase girls and go to concerts, because I could afford it, even though I didn't have a lot of bread. The cost of living was so freakin' low. $65 dollars for a garage apartment by Hermann Park, bills paid.
