Oasis - Don't look back in ager Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Blaise Bailey Finnegan III Common - I used to love H.E.R. Pink Floyd - Marooned The Killers - Spaceman
I wouldn't agree that Fever Tree had the biggest fan base, but they were very popular. I saw them several times and they put on a good show. Nationally, the 13th Floor Elevators were more successful. Your Gonna Miss Me was a hit in 1966 (and higher on the charts), compared to San Francisco Girls in 1968. Sadly, both groups had careers that didn't last as long as they should have. Want to have some fun? This is a great website by Dennis Hickey, who collects vintage concert posters, with his main interest being the old rock venues in Texas and the great bands that played them. Many, many images here of posters from Love Street, the Music Hall, the Catacombs, Liberty Hall, the Coliseum and others in Houston, along with posters from the Vulcan Gas Company, etc., in Austin, and other venues around the state. You'll get an idea of just how little I paid to go to concerts. It was pretty amazing. Enjoy! http://www.faculty.missouristate.edu/D/DennisHickey/texasposterlinks.htm

^^^Dan Deacon is an amazing story teller. I saw him last year at SXSW at Todd P's showcase in the middle of the UT campus (at the six pack). He went on like at 4AM and the whole acoustic show might have been the most unique thing I've done at SXSW over the years. I'm listening to: TigerCity- Pretend Not to Love CasioKids- F*** Midi Nickel Eye- Time of the Assasins Phoenix- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Harlem Shakes- Technicolor Health
just downloaded it last night. they remind me of high school. been listening to the new dmb single - funny the way it is. outstanding.
Recent Albums I've crossed off of my "To-Buy List:" Red Red Meat - Jimmywine Majestic Red Red Meat - Bunny Gets Paid Allman Brotheres Band - Eat a Peach Lynyrd Skynyrd - Second Coming Spoon - Girls Can Tell Common - Be Modest Mouse - Lonesome Crowded West Buffalo Springfield - Again Red Red Meat is a pretty sweet band that totally slipped under my radar until now. They almost made it big along side bands like the Smashing Pumpkins, but weren't quite mainstream enough. It's like hearing fresh early 90s rock fifteen years later. Here's the closest thing they had to a hit: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8kOF8G5YJdQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8kOF8G5YJdQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Joe Buddens' "Padded Room" is a decent piece of work. He's made some definite progress over the years since he first let out a dud.
