AFAIK, the playlists made by Blalock are all based on submissions by the artists. His site has been around for years, but changed its name in the last year or two. I'm not sure about the community playlists; I don't usually download those.

Good choices Otto. You will definitely want to pick up AnCo's trio of albums, Merriweather Post Pavilion, Strawberry Jam, and Feels. If you are feeling adventuresome, look into Avey Tare (one of AnCo's lead singers)'s solo album, Down There and the last 2 albums by Panda Bear (the other lead singer) in Tomboy and Person Pitch.
Yeah definitely listen to MPP first for the most accessible Animal Collective, then Strawberry Jam and Feels are also excellent. Feels is probably the most cohesive album they've done while Strawberry Jam features probably their best 2 songs back to back in For Reverend Green and Fireworks. Centipede Hz ranks somewhere below MPP, Strawberry, Feels and Sung Tongs for me right now, but I've only listened to it maybe 4-5 times so far. Haven't had a lot of a chance to digest it.
