Show Me Your Tears - Frank Black & the Catholics Sticky Fingers - Rolling Stones White Blood Cells - The White Stripes
probably not. it's right in the middle of the best four-day weekend of the year. i wanted to go check out heartless bastards at last concert, but it was 2/14, so i couldn't really do it.
Right now, I'm listening to Brooklyn Vegan on XMU. There was a great History Detectives on PBS Monday and one of the stories was about a guitar owned by Josh White. I hadn't ever heard of him and wanted to find out more. Josh White - New York To London Josh White- Free And Equal Blues Josh White- Roots Of The Blues
didn't even hear about that show... damn. james mcmurtry is playing at continetal club fri night... should be a fun time
The new Handsome Furs album is brilliant. They are probably my favorite band of the past 3 years. They are playing SXSW again this year. Dark Was the Night is solid. I've only listened to CD1. There are some good tracks from Grizzly Bear, The National and Bon Iver. The standout song is "Tightrope" by Yeasayer.
March of The Zapotec and Realpeople Holland So far so good. Although I think Gulag Orkestar will remain my favorite Beirut album.
yeah also love the new beirut albums not sure if podcasts count in this thread, but the new adam carolla podcast is good stuff so far
Tonight: Franz Ferdinand No Line On The Horizon- U2 lots of previous U2 as well, trying to figure out where this album ranks.
this exact second i'm listening to "The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion" by the black crowes and can say with little reservation that this is without a doubt one of the finest albums in the canons of rockdom
Lately, all I have been interested in listening to and buying are CDs by these following artists: Bob Dylan Neil Young Van Morrison Bruce Springsteen Leonard Cohen Joni Mitchell Tom Waits Rickie Lee Jones Although, I also include from time to time albums by The Band and The Byrds. One of the last CDs I got was "No Other" by former Byrd Gene Clark. Talk about an unknown classic - that album is absolutely mindblowing. Gene Clark should have been right up there in terms of singer songwriter greatness like Dylan, Young, Mitchell, etc. Another album that I got recently that pleasantly surprised me was Robbie Robertson's solo debut (self-titled). The CDs I have listened to in the last 2 days: "Veedon Fleece" - Van Morrison "Common One" - Van Morrison "Irish Heartbeat" - Van Morrison with The Chieftains "His Band and the Street Choir" - Van Morrison "Tunnel of Love" - Bruce Springsteen "Lucky Town" - Bruce Springsteen "The Wild, The Innocent, and The E Street Shuffle" - Bruce Springsteen "The Bootleg Series, Volumes 1-3" - Bob Dylan "Trans" - Neil Young "Everybody's Rockin'" - Neil Young "Old Ways" - Neil Young
