If you are a fan of The Cure/Disintegration the Blu-Ray of Trilogy is a must buy if you don't already have it.

Washed Out - Within and Without
It's nice, but I think I enjoyed the EP more.

    Herbie Hancock - Thrust
Head Hunters is a classic, but they got a new drummer for this album, and it shows. Great funk.

    HEALTH - Get Color
Rock is dead. Health is alive though!

Repped! Big ups for the Levitation mention! A truly epic, underrated and unknown band! And anyone remember the Htown band called Coterie that was around in the late 90's?

Any links for me to hear them? I found a couple of Coterie references on My Space Music.

Not sure if that's the same band but I do have a link now that I think about it, here is a track called Mourning Son from our only lp. See if you can spot the influences!

Definitely not the same band - http://www.myspace.com/thecoterierock#!/thecoterierock/music (but they're not band either)

Yeah, I like it - I get hints of Siouxsie and Banshees, Levitation, Lush, The Cure and My Bloody Valentine. Who am I missing? Thanks for the tune!

Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Belong
    Asobi Seksu - Fluorescence

2 2011 albums that are great "nu-gazing" albums.

Alethios - don't know if I will get to listen to much today as I have my son until after 5. :)

I would say early Verve as well, the guitar sound is very much like the first Verve Ep's. And vocally hints of Jeff Buckley and Thom Yorke. Pm sent btw.

Got it - thanks. I'm going to go back and listen to some Verve now.

I was listening to Lush - Split last night and caught some similarities, especially in the guitar work.

Another band this reminds me of is The Stone Roses. I haven't heard them in a while.

Hope you're having a good day with your son. Speaking of which, my son and I watched Dinner for Schmucks last night. Anyway, cut to the end and I was treated to a great song by a guy I had never heard of until last night. It was Dear Laughing Doubters by Sondre Lerche. Here's a link to that song on Youtube - hope this brightens your day.
