I'll do you a favor, because I think you haven't heard it--listen to Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Little Wing".

It is essential listening, but you're young, and have much to learn. Thank me later. No homo.

I actually have heard SRV's version and enjoyed it. But the thread was what we were listening to at the moment and honestly I had Jimi's Little Wing playin on iTunes.

Oops, the pacifier doesn't fit there.

Seriously, download some Gogol Bordello...Super Taranta's a good one with which to start. Hit me back here in half an hour. It's impossible to not dig it.

Well at least I'm receiving a relatively warm reception. Better than being yelled at for not knowing what to do. And I'm on Wanderlust King at the moment and these guys are pretty good. A little different but I like it.

Hmm. Thats hard. I would say in no particular order System of a down, Old Red Hot Chili Peppers (New stuff is terrible), Modest Mouse, Radiohead, Bob Marley. There are plenty more that I like though, these are just the first five that come to mind.

Assuming you can get single songs, check these out first:

Arsis - Face of My Innocence
Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra - Fillabuster XXX

And devour Congos, they blow Marley away. Let me know how you like those two tracks.

Oh, most importantly, listen to Cardiacs' "Nurses Whispering Verses". Above all else.

Wow why haven't I heard of Arsis. Face of my innocence is crazy good. Antibalas isn't my thing though. Gonna look up some stuff by the Congos next.

Try Fela Kuti's "Zombie"...Antibalas rips him off, he's a god. Give it a chance, it will bring warmth to your heart.

Plus you didn't get to the lyrics of Antibalas, I bet. Afrobeat takes time if you want words.

Hmm. I'll give Afrobeat another try then. Gave a listen to the Congos and they are really good though. I'm not sure about the Cardiacs though listening tho them at the moment. Gogol is pretty good though so thanks for recommending that to me.

I'm vomiting gold into your mouth. This is a rarity. I know you'd dig the Shangri Las...check out "Right Now and Not Later".

Or you could listen to more metal.

What other metal bands do you have in mind? Oh and by the way I listened to the Cardiacs. I don't really like the singer very much but i liked the guitar. Is that a euro band?
