    maybe we just really like the music we listen to and don't care about it's pop culture relevance.

    been listening to my favorite band of all time today. mainstream too.

    Just purchased the first 5 CDs from The Monkees (sorry, but this package came with the original album artwork and liner notes- can't get that from a download!). Amazon has these really nice Original Album Series collections with up to 5 original CDs in each- nice!

    Anyway, nothing better than high-quality pop- and the Monkees were highly underrated as a band. Tons of misinformation about them- that they didn't play the instruments on any of their recordings (FALSE), that they didn't write their own music (FALSE), and that their music was basically bubblegum (MAJOR FAIL). I'd put their best songs up there with anybody from the 60s:

    David Crowder Band "Church Music".

    Just saw them at Winter Jam Friday nite [also heard him speak back stage before the show] and was very impressed-purchased the cd that nite.
