Mr. Brightside, have you seen what your friend BenoƮt Pioulard went and did? he remixed a few Balmorhea tracks. http://candorclamor.com/ bought. I thought about reviving the ACL fest thread, but maybe I'll get my answer here... did anyone get a chance to see Balmorhea at ACL this year? <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CB2wPf8ffIQ?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CB2wPf8ffIQ?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

The Fall - The Wonderful and Frightening World of The Fall Wire - Object 47 Wire - Send Wire - A Bell Is A Cup Until It Is Struck Gang of Four - The Peel Sessions Album Pere Ubu - New Picnic Time Public Image Ltd - First Issue And found out yesterday that Wire's new studio album, "Red Barked Tree" is going to be released on January 11 of next year. Two weeks later, Gang of Four releases their first studio album of NEW material in over 16 years in "Content". After going through shoegazing pretty heavily, I have seem to settle in to a good groove of classic post-punk bands (with a smidgen of post-punk revivalists).
The Cure - Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me Siouxsie and the Banshees - Peepshow Gang of Four - Entertainment!
Been listening to Harry Nilsson all day. There just aren't any songwriters like him these days, plus his voice was heavenly. Sadder even that not a lot of people even know who he is despite the fact you'd know 2-3 songs he wrote that gained commercial success for other bands.
Taking it back several years... The Cure - Bloodflowers One of my favorites and a lot of nostalgia associated with it for me. Can't believe it's been a decade since it came out.
I was listening to The Cure today as well. Most be the gloomy emo mood I'm in after last night's election results and the weather outside today.
Yeah I think it's the weather. When I was at the grocery store earlier I swear I heard Bright Eyes playing over the speakers, so it seems to be going around.
Ahhh, fekin fell in love w/Harry again recently, total legend. And as you said going back and finding out all the songs he was a part of, you can't deny the guys greatness. And a week or so back an offical DVD called Who is Harry Nilsson and Why is Everyone Talkin' About Him finally came out, it's been held up since 2006. Seen it and it's highly recommend!
Silversun Pickups - Pikul also listened to the new Brian Eno album via NPR - small craft on a milk sea it was ok, nothing terribly great about it.
