Manny - I know you're a fan of Portishead and Massive Attack - Have you ever listened to much of the Sneaker Pimps? Splinter and Bloodsport are 2 of my absolute favorite albums ever. I think you'd enjoy them. Those 2 albums have Chris Corner on vocals, and I enjoy them quite a bit more than Becoming X, which was their most popular album and had Kelli on vocals.

Been listening to a lot of Arcade Fire since they have released 4 tracks from their upcoming album (with more available from recent live takes). Its obvious this album is going to sound different from their last one. These songs are a little less anthemic and more rock. Sounds a bit Cure-ish in a way. I really like them and I plan on going to Atlanta in August to see them.

I highly recommend checking them out if you have never done so.

    Old Arcade Fire recommended tracks:
    Cold Wind
    Wake Up
    Tunnels
    Rebellion
    Keep the Cars Running
    Intervention

And new tracks that you can find on youtube that are good.
    Suburban War
    Ready to Start
    Modern Man

I'm really enjoying the new tracks, especially The Suburbs. I'm a big fan but have never seen them live so I'm hoping that a Houston stop will be on the agenda of the upcoming tour. A hometown show at The Woodlands seems likely I would think. :)

A lot of unfavourable comments on the web for this song but I like it. It's Hong Kong Gardens covered by Uffie.

This one is by Faye Wong. S\he did a few Cocteau Twins covers which I didn't care much for but I like this one. It's not CT song but the beginning of it sounds like one.

First half of the song made think of Mazzy Star and a little of the VU. I was interested up to that point. Beyond that where they sped up the music and it all just turned generic sounding. The vocalist then starts sounding like the singer from the Killers.

LOL are you Chinese? But if anyone ever wants to try Chinese music, Faye Wong is indeed the best there is. Think of Bjork of the Chinese world (although quite different in many ways obviously).

No, I'm Aussie. Faye Wong has recorded songs with the Cocteau Twins. So she isn't completely unknown outside of Asia.
