Heard the album and It's good. Even though he takes shots at Relapse for being a bad album. Idk I loved Relapse, it being my seconded favorite next Marshall Mathers LP. Recovery is probably going to be ranked third. Lyrics are dope, but the lack of Dre beats on some songs makes it some what disappointing.....was hoping for a sequel to the song underground. First impression, good CD....not better then Relapse.

I'm listening to Sarah McLachlan's new album "Laws of Illusion." It's not out for another few weeks, but she's streaming it on her site. It's pretty good. There are a couple of outstanding tracks, but it's not as strong as Afterglow. I need to listen a few more times. Her albums usually grow on me quite a bit.
Tokyo Police Club- Champ (2010) Probably the weakest of all their previous releases, but still a pretty nice album. This album is alot more mellow. Twilight Saga- Eclipse (2010) This album is solid. Insane bonus tracks by Battles and Bombay Bicycle Club. Great tracks from Cee-Lo and Fanfarlo as well.
MGMT - Time to Pretend EP TV on the Radio - Dear Science Bill Callahan - Sometimes I wish we were an Eagle The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Arcade Fire - Funeral
If you like TV on the Radio, I think you would enjoy Suckers. They are a band from Brooklyn who release their debut album later this month. It was produced with help from group members of Yeasayer. The album is outstanding. Ongoing project- ripping all my CDs into my new computer. So, now I'm on the Gs, Hs, and Is. Just a few that I'm reading from this stack of CDs on my desk: Grateful Dead- Go To Heaven Marvin Gaye- Trouble Man soundtrack Guess Who- Greatest Hits Giovanni - Destiny (who the heck is this? I profess ignorance) Hall & Oates- Private Eyes Jane's Addiction- Ritual de lo Habitual Hootie and the Blowfish- Cracked Rear View Mirror J. Geils Band- Love Stinks INXS- Welcome to Wherever You Are And yes, Manny, I have all the Genesis ones- Duke, Abacab, Genesis, And Then There were Three, Foxtrot, Nursery Rhyme, Lamb Lies Down, Invisible Touch, etc., hearkening all the way back to the very first post in this loooooong thread. Genesis has a very unique sound- very anthemic type music on CDs like Duke, obviously all 3 are excellent musicians (especially Rutherford- I think he gets overlooked due to the greatness of Banks and Collins), and although it's prog-rock, I don't think it ever gets boring or too long and drawn out.
Completely agree, dando. As much as I like my 30gig Zune, I miss having a player that can store a crapload of music like my old 120gig iPod. If I had one of those, then I can put Genesis on there along with a lot of others that are not on the Zune. But I can always play something by them and it makes me feel better. I personally think that the self-titled album or "The Shapes" album is their most underrated album. You won't find many opening tracks better than "Mama".
Favorite concert moment: Phil Collins has the spotlight coming up from the floor during Mama, when he does that wicked, "HA HA, HA....OOHHHH". Worst concert moment: same concert, in the Summit, someone tries to rip off my newly-purchased Genesis t-shirt- they didn't succeed, but they literally ripped the shirt. HA HA, HA.......................oh.

The Grateful Dead: Go To Heaven In The Dark Workingman's Dead American Beauty Shakedown Street Mars Hotel Terrapin Station Anthem of the Sun After continually calling them overrated (not that I didn't like their music, but no way did I put them even in the top 100 or 150 of best-ever bands), I'm now starting to really get into their music. I know their live music is their bread-and-butter, but I'm starting with the studio stuff first. I still think Garcia and Weir are average singers, but they cover a lot of ground musically.
