I found the Grecian Male Statues a little too soft for me. I prefer harder, faster, and with more of a pounding beat, like Josie and the Pussycats.
Chemical Brothers - Swoon (just good ol' summertime techno) David Bowie, the "Berlin Trilogy" Uffie's a cool chick. Way aided by ultra tight production FOR SURE, its not all her. Still she has her own style. A small white British girl doing old school style women rap with no pretense to it.
Listening to a ton of Flaming Lips since I'm going to be seeing them sunday Got two of their really old albums (Clouds Taste Metallic and Transmissions from the Satellite Heart) and listened through those. And finally listened all the way through Embryonic. Listening through the Soft Bulletin again right now (<3 this album)
This makes me happy. Last week or so I've been pretty hooked on LCD Soundsystem's latest, This is Happening. It's not on the level of Sound of Silver but it would be crazy to expect that type of greatness again. It's just a very very sold dance record that will get you moving and keep you smiling.
Sonic Youth - EVOL Sigur Ros - Takk Art Bears - Winter Songs Jonsi - Go Mew - Frengers Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92 Liars - Liars Kraftwerk - Computer World The Jonsi album is SOOOOOOOO good! Outside of "Agaetis Byrjun", it's the best thing he has ever done, IMO.
Been listening to mostly electronic lately. Mount Kimbie - Crooks & Lovers (+ Remixes Pts. 1 & 2) Ital Tek - Midnight Colour Shlohmo - Camping EP Rudi Zygadlo - Great Western Laymen Onra - Long Distance Squarepusher - Feed Me Weird Things Deadboy - Cash Antics Vol. 1 Burial - Untrue. Lorn - Nothing Else Take - Only Mountain Trentemøller - Into the Great Wide Yonder
Frank Zappa - We're Only in it for the Money Captain Beefheart - Lick My Decals Off, Baby The Residents - Meet the Residents Sun Ra - Atlantis
The Birthday Party has got to be one of the most underrated bands of all time. Cop Shoot Cop - Suckerpunch
Here We Go Magic - Pigeons Wolf Parade - Expo 86 Surrogate - Popular Mechanics The Depreciation Guild - Spirit Youth <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lTqq4ypLxo8&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lTqq4ypLxo8&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
To whoever put Eminem's Recovery leak thread and to whoever had the link thank you. This **** is great. As soon as I downloaded it I went to look back and thank you but they took it off. I'm going to be blasting this all summer. And for sure going to buy a copy when it comes out.
Yeah I agree -- sounds great so far. Apologies to the mods about the link -- I'm guessing I got that thread closed.. will not do that again!
