I. Love. You! BoC still haven't put any new music since 06, loooong over due and there are rumors of a major shift in style. Can't wait to hear it....

Yea, it was pretty good on first listen - matter of fact, I think it is a better overall album than their most known in Starfish. Will probably get their debut (mp3) tomorrow. Who knows?? I might wind up getting every studio album in their catalog which is like 23 but still 4 fewer than The Fall.
Ok, you should stop there with their 80's Lp's and next check out '92 Priest=Aura which is another of their best, don't get caught up in thinking they're an 80's band, cause that's only 1/3 of the story.
Went running this morning and had Biggie blastin NSFW language? <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aNwvHEme_JE&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aNwvHEme_JE&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
From one of the best unknown LP's of the 70's... <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YFMTQ1vIn9s&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YFMTQ1vIn9s&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
I meant to ask you - what do you think are their top 5 albums? I am finding that some of their stuff is hard to come by because of the import status - I am NOT going to pay 40 or more bucks for an album!
1. Priest=Aura 2. Starfish 3. Hologram of Baal 4. Forget Yourself 5. After Everything/Uninvited Like the Clouds Their 80's stuff sounds very dated esp. the production of it, still some great songs but my least fave period from them.

For me I am very biased towards Starfish, that album was soundtrack of my senior year of HS and really the first "hit" I had of their music, seeing them live at #'ers in 1988 really planted a seed in me to become a musician. On a reapeat sitting with Heyday, it sounds very dated to my ears, way to early to mid 80's sounding. You might even say that there's a stylistic line drawn right btw Heyday and Starfish and for me at least the later material is much more laid back and in the pocket and I seem to feel it more than frantic 80's gooves. BTW there was a recent Billboard story where the band are saying they'll be coming back full electric and doing both U23 and Starfish, start to finish. Great time to get into the Church.
Great stuff, man - I appreciate it. Yea, I pretty much was going by what allmusic was saying since I didn't have the smarts to ask you earlier. Heyday was rated as one of their best but so is U23.
Heyday's still got some really great moments in it, but Starfish, man just listen to how the songs flow into each other and the space btw the notes, soooo f'in inportant to their music! Going to see them in Atlanta on May 1!
