I appreciate the interest. Black Francis is actually a pseudonym for Charles Thompson (aka Frank Black), not the whole Pixies. Bluefinger is a sort of a tribute to a Dutch artist/songwriter called Hermann Brood. Ever since I got a copy a few weeks ago I haven't listened to anything else. I really recommend it.
Aerosmith "Pandora's Box" Alotta Butch Walker and Jesse Malin since I just got tickets for their July Houston show.

I've been listening to Notwist as well. Do you pronounce it No Twist or Not wist? I hear different ppl pronounce it different ways. Postal Service is one of my all time favourites of this decade. I keep hearing they are going to release a new album like every year or so for the past 4 years and no luck.

When Dreamboat Annie was released in 1976, rumors spread that the sisters were witches. It was said that the album's hit, "Magic Man", was about Satan's seduction of a child. It was also rumored at the time that "Magic Man" was a reference to cult-leader Charles Manson. In a 2002 interview Ann Wilson stated that the song was autobiographical; she was the young girl and Mike Fisher, her first love, was the "Magic Man". In 1977 Heart's record label, Mushroom Records, is said to have started a rumor that Ann and Nancy were lesbian lovers. The label ran a full page ad in Rolling Stone showing the sisters bare-shouldered and suggestively captioned, "It was only our first time". When a reporter suggested, backstage after a live appearance, that the sisters were sex partners, Ann returned to her hotel room and wrote the lyrics to "Barracuda" to relieve her frustration.

how is that mudcrutch album? i may hop on that one. you missed a phenomenal low spark>big wooly mammoth>low spark at the panic show in houston, btw. maybe the best panic playing i've personally witnessed. i just downloaded these yesterday (been in an indie/punk mood lately): times new viking - rip it off cheap time - s/t Thomas Function - Celebration othe than that, i've been listening to jay reteard, yonder mountain string band, the black corwes, a lot of neil young, ryan adams, widespread panic (disc 1 of 5/10/97... good god), various grateful dead shows... that's about it. oh, and "You Can Call Me Al" off of Graceland by Paul Simon.
I had the annual geezer party at the beachouse over the weekend. I spun 37 Cd's between Friday around 5 and Monday around noon. It's mostly a blues crowd but I got the biggest repsonse from the Racontuers/Foxboro Hotubs back to back. (Maybe because it was around cocktail time on Saturday) I could do it on an Ipod and never have to touch a thing but I like having the discs in a file and letting people thumb through them and pick out something that suits their mood. That was one of the great things about LP's; the artwork and notes were big enough to actually read.
Just wanted to thank you for this: Aja - Steely Dan Others I'm listening to or plan to today: Maladroit - Weezer The Guilded Palace of Sin - The Flying Burrito Brothers Beats, Rhymes and Life - A Tribe Called Quest
