Keep in mind that Pure Phase has two different mixes for each channel, to cause a phase effect throughout the album, hence the name.

manny, I see that you've been on a serious shoegaze trip for awhile now and are starting to drift into a lil bit of post-rock/post-metal. (God Is An Astronaut) I highly recommend you treat yourself to Dreamend

I'm not sure if you live in Houston, but they will be here next month @ Rudyards opening for The Appleseed Cast. Ryan Graveface who runs the Graveface label...

    bmsr
    jakob
    daturah
    dreamend
    the appleseed cast

    (wicked solid lineup)

is also a member of Dreamend. If you dig M83 and GY!BE you can consider Dreamend a magnificent crossroad between the two. Plus they hand out insane vinyl art.

btw.....Maserati: quite possibly the most intriguing math rock group......ever.

Thanks for the tip, Landlord - I'll have to check out both Dreamend and Maserati. Are you a fan of Ulrich Schnauss?? I am looking at getting an album by him along with some more Windy & Carl next week.

Currently listening to "Hush" by Asobi Seksu (again).

As T n F said, he is a pretty hot commodity. He is more or less an electronic musician but he definitely shows an affinity towards shoegazing and he reminds a lot of in that sense to M83. The first 2 songs off "A Strangely Isolated Place" are all I have heard but it is enough to make me buy his album.

Here is a youtube clip of the 1st song off that album:

Currently listening to "23" by Blonde Redhead and I might fire up some Animal Collective and TV on the Radio with Sung Tongs and Dear Science.

I'm quite surprised that you'd like múm.

I really appreciate their atmospheric drones, but the vocals are extremely off-putting. way too overly spiritualized.

    anyway...

I'm totally engrossed with Sand In Fire and Locomotora right now.
