Your list is bunk. I don't see Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs, Born Ruffians, Plants and Animals or Great Lake Swimmers. BUNK!
The Wolf Parade omission is an egregious one indeed, but it must have been a cut and paste error of some sort. I thought I’d put them in the “Other most excellent albums” category. And yes indeed, there are many more as well: Tegan and Sara Women Chad VanGaalen Corb Lund Sloan Weakerthans Joel Plaskett Kathleen Edwards K- OS K’Naan Cadence Weapon Propagandhi D.O.A. The Besnard Lakes The Unicorns The Stills Do Make Say Think Silver Mt. Zion Pink Mountain Tops Hot Hot Heat Tokyo Police Club Ron Sexsmith Frog Eyes Swan Lake … and many more!
Tokyo Police Club is an most excellent band. I've loved all their albums, even though the total track time of each album is about 35 minutues. They seem to really enjoy what they are doing and seem to be having alot of fun. Did you listen to the new Spencer Krug EP called Moonface? Its available for free download on his website. (moonface.ca). Its some of the best work I've ever heard from him, even though his 2009 release of Dragonslayer was simply outstanding as well. Others missing from your list include Islands, Most Serene Republic and The Lovely Feathers. Canada has some really good talent in the indie rock genre. Its even better than what is coming out of the UK, Australia and Scandinavia as well. Canada ftw!
It’s been an incredible decade here, a cultural explosion of a sort. I think it was largely made possible by the internet. And how could I forget about Islands? That reminds me of another album which might even make my personal top 10 for the decade. Nick Thorburn of Islands is in a side project called Human Highway with Jim Guthrie. They put out a very good album as well, but back in 2003 Guthrie put out a solo album called Now More Than Ever, which I think is a fantastic album. For unknown reasons he hasn’t put out another solo album since and his name has kind of been forgotten. I’ve heard about the Moonface project but I haven’t heard it yet. I’ll have to check that out. Thanks for the reminder! Here are a few up and coming Canadian bands you may hear more about this year: Woodpigeon Deep Dark Woods The Slew And I just heard some very early talk about a band called Makeout Videotape. And in a completely different category, here are a couple of the funnier Canadian songs of the decade: http://radio3.cbc.ca/play/band/LEDERHOSEN-LUCIL/Doin-the-Ganglion http://radio3.cbc.ca/play/band/OLD-MAN-LUEDECKE/I-Quit-My-Job

I'm super dragging today after a long, sleepless tonight with a sick 6 month old. That, and I've got tedious mass emails going out to clients today. Needed a pick-me-up, energetic set. So it's Puddle of Mudd today.
I'm in tears, this album is so good. Beach House, along with the new Spencer Krug's "Moonface" EP, and Yeasayer's "Odd Blood" have made 2010 very nice so far.
after tonight..... I need some Immanu El to bring my wits back..... <object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UFQ0dCSYubQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UFQ0dCSYubQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>
Mogwai - Young Team I really wasn't expecting to like this album so much. Never was a big fan of Come on Die Young.
beck - the information guerro almost killed beck for me, but he has redeemed himself nicely w/ the information and then modern guilt, which i would say is my 2nd favorite beck album behind mutations (greatest road trip album ever!).
