Im not a pink floyd expert or anything but at one time I tried to figure out what the first pink floyd song was that sounded like Roger Waters pink floyd, not Syd Barrett's. In my mind this is the song that set the sound for their eventual Pink Floydness. I love the Syd Barrett era stuff too, though, but its almost like its another band - like Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green vs Buckingham/Nicks. Syd Barretts last song with Pink Floyd- Nick Mason is high as balls in this video.
Heard a very fun song in the truck yesterday, it's a hip-hop song about the Texas/Oklahoma rodeo circuit and banging groupies and all that it entails. I've had no luck finding it on youtube, the chorus is "momma (sp?) I'm getting an education"
I had forgotten this song until a ****ing Taco Bell commercial reminded me of it today...it's pure 90's rock catchy:
Early in the week, I posted something from Sublime. Then Rashmon gave us quite a bit of BHS. There was a connection between BHS and Sublime. Sublime comes across as some Wild & Crazy Guys. For those that like to read. 25 Years Ago, Sublime Arrived in Austin and Cut One of the Decade's Biggest Albums Local producer Paul Leary put some Austin in the Long Beach surf/punk/dub trio's mix
I spent a few minutes on this project and then accepted - realized that the Genre wasn't the place that I fit in.
Mango, you were my only hope. Right? It was a really funny song, and I stayed on random rural radio station for a bit just hoping they'd tell me who it was.
In the past, some radio stations would have a history of their Playlist on their web site. Is it possible that the radio station would have a Playlist somewhere for you to look at or that they could look up themselves if you contacted them?
Yep, if I only knew what rando radio station I was listening to. Only thing that's gone really wrong with my truck is the radio display. I never know what station I'm listening to of the 10 presets. It's apparently a bit costly to get Ford to fix it, and I haven't looked into aftermarket car stereo stuff.
New Cure: I was actually dreading this album because I’m a long time diehard who has been super disappointed with the last two duds. Happy to say the new album is freaking amazing. I’ll put a disclaimer out that it is NOT for everyone. However if you love the Cure’s second half of Disintegration, you’ll love this album. It’s made with that same vibe and lyrical style. There’s little here that’s radio friendly except for “fragile thing” which I hope gets picked up, but it’s a great listen for this super depressing vibe it looks like we are headed into where we need a second to vibe out to the world that we’ve lost and be a little bummed out about where we are… especially later in life.
Paul Revere is, I think, my favorite Beastie Boys song. They have a ton of bangers. Sabotage, Intergalactic, Fight For Your Right to Party, No Sleep Til' Brooklyn, Brass Monkey, What'cha Want are also amazing, and it is hard to pick a favorite. I might be forgetting other awesome songs that deserve to be in the conversation.
Yea, I saw a review on allmusic the other day and they gave it a great review. New Primal Scream album (1st in 8 years) comes out this Friday.
