Yeah I heard of them after one of my friends saw them at ACL last year. I'm hoping the next album will be as good if not better.
Am going thru some kind of flashback revival period right now and can't get enough of Television's first two LP's 'Marquee Moon' and 'Adventure". Am also back on a XTC kick, mainly fueled by 'Black Sea' and 'Drums and Wires'. The XTC revival was started by a recent thread here. I find it interesting how these four albums from the early 80's late 70's don't sound nearly as dated as other music from that era. They were pioneers On a completely different tangent is the most recent 'Donnas' LP, 'Gold Medal. I've always been a sucker for a solid girl band, but had kind of dismissed these gals. Just the other day I was watching a Mad TV rerun and the Donnas were on doing 'Fall Behind Me' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=995R8OwDQs4 I really like these girls, ALOT!
yes, exactly. i was recommending sunset rubdown sarcastically, so that people would realize that i'm bashing them and arcade fire and wolf parade, and then when people tell me off for bashing them, i pretend that i was seriously recommending them in this thread, which is basically to recommend good music to posters. too bad you caught me i call manny ramirez, bbs' music thread uber dork, to settle this once and for all!!
Are you in your car inside your home? Else, how can you be in two places at once? So are you saying you REALLY LIKE Wolf Parade?
If anyone's interested, the full DMB concert tonight from West Palm Beach will be broadcast live on XM "XYZ". Yeah, I may have to make it a night in for that one, even though I'm seeing them in six days!
In the MP3 player: Thievery Corp (seems like everyone likes this band right now) Mobb Deep (I loved them since the early 90's and this new album might be there best) The Kooks (some catchy brit rock at its finest) Dirty Pretty things (the other guy from the Libertines - very solid album) Yeah Yeah Yeahs (my favorite chick band) Muse (new album Black Holes... some is good some is not like all Muse albums) Raconteurs (Jack White's new stuff, but everyone knows this by know) Wolfmother (rock me - Judas Priest meets indie rock) Built to Spill (new album is incredible) The Zutons (liked their last album - still deciding on this one) The Church (yep this old band just put out a solid trippy new album)
i had to eat two tickets to that show. couldn't fly out there and couldn't get them sold fast enough on ebay.... oh well. ps - listening to "whipping post" by the allman brothers off of their 5-7-70 show (i think that's the date).
