Thom Yorke - The Eraser Freaking awesome. The best CD I have purchased in a long time. On the rare occasion I am not listening to it, I have been playing other Radiohead stuff, mostly OK Computer, as well as The Postal Service and Interpol. Took me awhile to get over that "Eanie Meany" tune by Jim Noir that was featured in those Adidas ads during the World Cup. aw, crap... listening to it now, again...
I like Du Hast also, but my favorites are Eifersucht, Engel, Sonne, Mutter, and Nebel. Rammstein can rock.
Right now, I'm listening to the Walton and Johnson show stream, but here's the next ten MP3s on my playlist Killin' Time - Clint Black No Time to Kill - Clint Black Gangsta's Paradise - Coolio Have You Ever Seen the Rain? - CCR Friday I'm in Love - The Cure Wayne's World Theme [Extended] - Dana Carvey and Mike Myers I Believe in a Thing Called Love - The Darkness What Would You Say? - DMB Ants Marching - DMB Let's Dance - David Bowie
That Thom Yorke definitely rocks. Also, Islands- Return to the Sea Of Montreal- The Sunlandic Twins Sufjan Stevens- The Avalanche Clap Your Hands Say Yeah- self titled John Mayer Trio- Try Has anyone heard Ben Fold's version of B****** Aint S***?
Oh, hell yeah. One of the funniest songs I've ever heard. What's ironic about it is that it's actually a beautiful song if you don't listen to the lyrics. Therein lies the humor.
Agreed. One of my favorite songs. Anyone listen to Breaking Benjamin? New song Diary of Jane is pretty good.
The new King of Kings one by Motorhead? Awesome. Randy Orton should have kept the Evolution theme they did. In the car: Pat Benatar mix CD At home on the turntable: Beatles - "Blue" album Kansas - Leftoverture
I have just gotten my hands on two albums I should have had a long time ago. I've been listening to Brian Eno's Here Come the Warm Jets, and Taking Tiger Mountain(by Strategy). I can't get enough.
Because I don't want to go outside I have been spending the last few days listening to some bands I have never heard of before. A lot of which were on Amazon's list of The Best of SXSW. And, so I haven't completely wasted all my time I'll give you a short review: The Minus 5 - The Gun Album: One of the guys from REM and his friends from Seattle. It is sort of a modern California Country Rock sound B+ The Subways - Young For Eternity: Sorta punky White Stripes thingy B The Zutons - Who Killed the Zutons:Wild, off the wall rock B- They have a newer CD , but I missed. Ray Davies - Other People's Lives: Former Kink sounds great B+ Rubyhorse - Rise: Ethereal, atmospheric but it rocks A- Elf Power - Creature: I listen to their last one and it was OK but I also listend to Creatures and really liked it a lot B Los Lonley Boys - Sacred: more of exactly the same A+ The Secret Machine - Ten Silver Drops : Wow lot's of potential for these kids, everyone says Pink Floyd but they of course aren't Gilmour and Waters but real good A The Charalatans UK - Telling Stories: I listened to their brand new one and it was OK but I went back and listened to Telling Stories and that is just a great CD A The Court & Spark - Hearts: easy breezy country atmospheric B+ The Twight Singers - Powder Burns: I got this from looking at the "Rescue Me" site about their sound track. It's a little ponderous for me but you younger angst fans will probably dig it. C Tom Petty - Highway Companion; I have liked every song Tom has ever done... until this CD. It's kind of dull. C
Good albums but I think you would like "Another Green World" a lot - that album is generally regarded to be Eno's best pre-ambient one. Another one that I like a lot by him (along with David Byrne) is "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts".
Thanks for the recommendation. I will have to check it out. I think Eno's career in total is one of the most influential in music. You have his solo stuff, Roxy Music, as well as producing, so many other heavy hitters. He's done it all, and done it for and with some of the best.
