Fact. Same with Kanye. People can't separate his personality from his music. His first 3 albums were all superbly done regardless of what you think about him.

None. Rap isn't music to me. Music involves musical instruments, not turntables, drum machines and sampling.

Sorry I had a fistfight at your Black Panther party.

How I envy you so much right now. Any extra room for 2 in that suite? Lol

There was supposed to be a presale yesterday but it got rescheduled until Tuesday for whatever reason. I'm going to try and get as close as possible, I'm a huge fan of both and this is like a dream concert for me.

Also anyone who purchases tickets online gets a free digital copy of the album.

So do you consider rap to be music when performed with a live band?

Rap needs to reinvent itself, most of the word play and braggadocio and the perils of living life as a black man, is stale and uninteresting. Rap is in a box right now, and the only songs that move are ones with hooks like the all I do is win song. If rap didn't have Beyonce and other female singers to move the units, it would be a dead medium.

Who can honestly say that they want to hear a whole song of nothing but rap. Who can honestly say when they hear NEW YORK, that they know what Jay-z is saying?

You're only talking about mainstream, radio rap.

It's hard to separate personality from music when his ego is butting heads with actually making music. Does Otis need that yelling at the end? Does he really need to throw in that stupid "huh" grunt at the end of random lines?

I like Kanye and Jay-z, but why doesn't eminem get any love from the hip hope world, well that is what it seems like to me.

Em is in a world of his own lyrically and the way that he delivers his music. It just seems the hip-hop stations never give him any respect or play any of his music.

Cause "Love the Way You Lie" and "Not Afraid" didn't get any radio play these last two years...

hip hop stations don't play his music, pop and top 40 stations do now.

Em has turned mainstream and his last album is proof of that. Plus he sounds the same in every one of his songs now, like he's always yelling for some reason.

He's still good lyrically but no denying that he has "lost it"

Even if you think he has "lost it" he is still better than all these rappers. All everyone talks about is the same old guns, drugs, cars, alcohol, girls, etc.

I enjoyed the EP he has out with Royce the 5'9

To be fair, Eminem hasn't really diversified his lyrical content either that much. I'm not taking anything away from him I think he's one of the best ever at what he does.

Now I can't believe this has turned into a Jay Z/Kanye bashing thread but whatever. I for one can't wait for this concert. It will be HUGE! They'll both put on great performances I'm sure of it.

    Some old school Jigga.

You do understand that Beyonce is no way, shape, or form a rap artist? In any case, it's apparent you do not even listen to rap or you would know there is plenty of variety in the genre.

Also there are plenty of people that still want to hear whole songs of nothing but rap, the fact that Royce Da 5'9" and Eminem debuted their EP at #1 just over a month ago should be proof of that.

That whole album is ****ing dope. Top 3 Hip Hop albums ever. To this day it's the only album i've never skipped a song on.

    <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3Jx3jGAlKG0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

"I'm smooth but deadly like a pearl handled pistol
Honies hum in melody when I, rub it like crystal
The proper etiquette, when I drop the subject verb
then the predicate, with this rich ***** rhetoric"

Are you serious? Who is ever going to spit bars like that anymore.

Hov haters don't know ****. That album was produced on the crack money he had from slanging that **** on the streets. In a little more then ten years he went from selling drugs in Brooklyn to being half a billionaire. The "in my lifetime" volumes were genius and the Black Album revolutionized Hip Hop. To this day the only commercial album he's ever sent out was the Linkin Park collabo ****. People listen to Empire state of the mind on the radio and think that's Jay-Z but it really isn't.
