I like deerhunter pretty well. Yeasayer is OK. I love Wolf Parade. Apologies to the Queen is an amazing album. At Mount Zoomer was a slight slump with a few really good tunes. Expo 86 was a nice bounce back for them. I like Of Montreal as well, but they can have a few misses on their albums. I do like Beach House a lot. I also love Surfer's Blood I like Vivian Girls I also like Best Coast Electrelane is also one of my favorite Indy bands. Some of these may not be super hip, but I like them. On the total retro feel I like The Horrors.
you should start checking out some drone stuff like Hotel Hotel, Nadja, Andrew Weathers, Grouper, Noveller, La Vérité etc... best genre to blaze too imo.
