WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!! It's been too long since Houston got brown...
Good news- They said there'll be a big addition, possibly even headliner, within the next month But the line-up is a bit disappointing. I know itll still be a fun time and at the ticket price its hard to complain, but I had such high hopes. I did not expect Weezer. They just didn't seem like they'd fit as THE headliner (Though hopefully the new add is). I've seen their live show from a distance though and it looks like a lot of fun. I'd be glad to see them but just hope theres another headliner on top of them. Doom is nice. Also haven't listened to Ween, assuming they are good?
Smith Westerns are missing. Hope they are a late add because I was really excited to see them. I mean I know they are opening for Wilco in May and I'll be seeing them there, but id gladly see them twice
If the surprise band is anything less than The Beatles, this festival still is gonna be a bit of a let-down.
I know, I couldn't make that. I know they have been to Houston a lot, but I was expecting them because they are opening for Yeasayer and pitchforks tour dates had them at FPSF
I bought my ticket yesterday because CUT ****ING COPY IS PERFORMING I've already seen 4 of my top 5 bands in the past year (Crystal Castles, LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire, and Vampire Weekend). Seeing #5 is icing. I'm ecstatic.
I like the line up. I'd go just to see Black Congress and Co-Pilot. Amplified Heat, Indian Jewelry, Black Angels, The Ton Tons, Rocky Moon and Bolt, Leg Sweeper, Female Demand, The Manichean and B L A C K I E are excellent choices too. There is really a ton of good local support on that bill. a little bummed that Omotai isnt on there. I'm surprised LIMB is performing since he just had all his equipment jacked. Good to see him back on track.
MF Doom? That's kind of random but cool. I wonder if it will be a slightly different crowd this year due to Weezer playing.
I think it's a good lineup for this festival, and another year of progression. Weezer, Cut Copy, Yeasayer, HEALTH, and Tobacco are all good gets. The Black Angels are also blowing up somewhat right now, though they aren't really my thing. I find this lineup far more appealing than last years.
